אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ the king {down} ham·me·leḵ מִבֵּ֣ית from the house mib·bêṯ יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיָּב֛וֹאוּ and entered way·yā·ḇō·w·’ū הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the royal ham·me·leḵ בֵּ֣ית palace bêṯ דֶּֽרֶך־ by way de·reḵ- שַׁ֥עַר of the Gate ša·ʿar הָרָצִ֖ים of the Guards . hā·rā·ṣîm וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב Then [Joash] took his seat way·yê·šeḇ עַל־ on ‘al- הַמְּלָכִֽים׃ the royal ham·mə·lā·ḵîm כִּסֵּ֥א throne , kis·sê 2 Kings 11:20 כָּל־ and all kāl- עַם־ the people ‘am- הָאָ֖רֶץ of the land hā·’ā·reṣ וַיִּשְׂמַ֥ח rejoiced . way·yiś·maḥ וְהָעִ֣יר And the city wə·hā·‘îr שָׁקָ֑טָה was quiet , šā·qā·ṭāh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- עֲתַלְיָ֛הוּ because Athaliah ‘ă·ṯal·yā·hū הֵמִ֥יתוּ had been put to hê·mî·ṯū בַחֶ֖רֶב the sword ḇa·ḥe·reḇ מֶלֶךְ׃ס at the royal mɛ·lɛḵ בֵּ֥ית palace . bêṯ 2 Kings 11:21 יְהוֹאָ֥שׁ Joash yə·hō·w·’āš שֶׁ֥בַע [was] seven še·ḇa‘ בֶּן־ years old ben- שָׁנִ֖ים . . . šā·nîm בְּמָלְכֽוֹ׃פ when he became king . bə·mā·lə·ḵōw 2 Kings 12:1 שֶׁ֤בַע In the seventh še·ḇa‘ בִּשְׁנַת־ year biš·naṯ- לְיֵהוּא֙ of Jehu , lə·yê·hū יְהוֹאָ֔שׁ Joash yə·hō·w·’āš מָלַ֣ךְ became king , mā·laḵ מָלַ֖ךְ and he reigned mā·laḵ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם in Jerusalem bî·rū·šā·lim וְאַרְבָּעִ֣ים forty wə·’ar·bā·‘îm שָׁנָ֔ה years . šā·nāh אִמּ֔וֹ His mother’s ’im·mōw וְשֵׁ֣ם name wə·šêm צִבְיָ֖ה was Zibiah ; ṣiḇ·yāh מִבְּאֵ֥ר she was from mib·bə·’êr שָֽׁבַע׃ Beersheba . šā·ḇa‘ 2 Kings 12:2 יְהוֹאָ֧שׁ And Joash yə·hō·w·’āš וַיַּ֨עַשׂ did way·ya·‘aś הַיָּשָׁ֛ר [what was] right hay·yā·šār בְּעֵינֵ֥י in the eyes bə·‘ê·nê יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh כָּל־ all kāl- יָמָ֑יו the days yā·māw אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer הוֹרָ֔הוּ he was instructed hō·w·rā·hū יְהוֹיָדָ֖ע by Jehoiada yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘ הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ the priest . hak·kō·hên 2 Kings 12:3 רַ֥ק Nevertheless , raq הַבָּמ֖וֹת the high places hab·bā·mō·wṯ לֹא־ were not lō- סָ֑רוּ removed ; sā·rū הָעָ֛ם the people hā·‘ām ע֥וֹד continued ‘ō·wḏ מְזַבְּחִ֥ים sacrificing mə·zab·bə·ḥîm וּֽמְקַטְּרִ֖ים and burning incense ū·mə·qaṭ·ṭə·rîm בַּבָּמֽוֹת׃ [there] . bab·bā·mō·wṯ 2 Kings 12:4 יְהוֹאָ֜שׁ Then Joash yə·hō·w·’āš וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- הַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים the priests , hak·kō·hă·nîm כֹּל֩ “ [Collect] all kōl כֶּ֨סֶף the money ke·sep̄ יוּבָ֤א brought yū·ḇā הַקֳּדָשִׁ֜ים as sacred gifts haq·qo·ḏā·šîm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- בֵית־ into the house ḇêṯ- יְהוָה֙ of YHWH — Yah·weh עוֹבֵ֔ר the census ‘ō·w·ḇêr אִ֕ישׁ . . . ’îš כֶּ֣סֶף money , ke·sep̄ כֶּ֥סֶף the money ke·sep̄ נַפְשׁ֖וֹת from vows nap̄·šō·wṯ עֶרְכּ֑וֹ . . . , ‘er·kōw
