1 Kings 10:29 מֶרְכָּבָ֤ה A chariot mer·kā·ḇāh וַֽ֠תַּעֲלֶה could be imported wat·ta·‘ă·leh וַתֵּצֵ֨א . . . wat·tê·ṣê מִמִּצְרַ֙יִם֙ from Egypt mim·miṣ·ra·yim בְּשֵׁ֣שׁ for six bə·šêš מֵא֣וֹת hundred [shekels] mê·’ō·wṯ כֶּ֔סֶף of silver , ke·sep̄ וְס֖וּס and a horse wə·sūs וּמֵאָ֑ה for a hundred ū·mê·’āh בַּחֲמִשִּׁ֣ים and fifty . ba·ḥă·miš·šîm וְ֠כֵן Likewise , wə·ḵên בְּיָדָ֥ם [they] bə·yā·ḏām יֹצִֽאוּ׃פ exported them yō·ṣi·’ū לְכָל־ to all lə·ḵāl מַלְכֵ֧י the kings mal·ḵê הַחִתִּ֛ים of the Hittites ha·ḥit·tîm וּלְמַלְכֵ֥י and to the kings ū·lə·mal·ḵê אֲרָ֖ם of Aram . ’ă·rām 1 Kings 11:1 וְהַמֶּ֣לֶךְ King wə·ham·me·leḵ שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה Solomon, however , šə·lō·mōh אָהַ֞ב loved ’ā·haḇ רַבּ֖וֹת many rab·bō·wṯ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- נָכְרִיּ֛וֹת foreign nā·ḵə·rî·yō·wṯ נָשִׁ֧ים women nā·šîm בַּת־ along with the daughter baṯ- פַּרְעֹ֑ה of Pharaoh — par·‘ōh מוֹאֲבִיּ֤וֹת women of Moab , mō·w·’ă·ḇî·yō·wṯ עַמֳּנִיּוֹת֙ Ammon , ‘am·mo·nî·yō·wṯ אֲדֹ֣מִיֹּ֔ת Edom , ’ă·ḏō·mî·yōṯ צֵדְנִיֹּ֖ת and Sidon , ṣê·ḏə·nî·yōṯ חִתִּיֹּֽת׃ as well as Hittite women . ḥit·tî·yōṯ 1 Kings 11:2 מִן־ [These women were] from min- הַגּוֹיִ֗ם the nations hag·gō·w·yim אֲשֶׁ֣ר about which ’ă·šer יְהוָה֩ YHWH Yah·weh אָֽמַר־ had told ’ā·mar- אֶל־ . . . ’el- בְּנֵ֨י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל . . . , yiś·rā·’êl לֹֽא־ “ You must not lō- תָבֹ֣אוּ intermarry ṯā·ḇō·’ū בָהֶ֗ם with them ḇā·hem וְהֵם֙ - wə·hêm לֹא־ - lō- יָבֹ֣אוּ - yā·ḇō·’ū בָכֶ֔ם - , ḇā·ḵem אָכֵן֙ for surely ’ā·ḵên יַטּ֣וּ they will turn yaṭ·ṭū לְבַבְכֶ֔ם your hearts lə·ḇaḇ·ḵem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אַחֲרֵ֖י after ’a·ḥă·rê אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם their gods . ” ’ĕ·lō·hê·hem שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה Yet Solomon šə·lō·mōh דָּבַ֥ק clung dā·ḇaq בָּהֶ֛ם to these [women] bā·hem לְאַהֲבָֽה׃ in love . lə·’a·hă·ḇāh 1 Kings 11:3 וַיְהִי־ He had way·hî- ל֣וֹ lōw שְׁבַ֣ע seven šə·ḇa‘ מֵא֔וֹת hundred mê·’ō·wṯ נָשִׁ֗ים wives nā·šîm שָׂרוֹת֙ of royal birth śā·rō·wṯ שְׁלֹ֣שׁ and three šə·lōš מֵא֑וֹת hundred mê·’ō·wṯ וּפִֽלַגְשִׁ֖ים concubines — ū·p̄i·laḡ·šîm נָשָׁ֖יו and his wives nā·šāw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לִבּֽוֹ׃ turned his heart lib·bōw וַיַּטּ֥וּ away . way·yaṭ·ṭū 1 Kings 11:4 לְעֵת֙ For when lə·‘êṯ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה Solomon šə·lō·mōh וַיְהִ֗י grew way·hî זִקְנַ֣ת old , ziq·naṯ נָשָׁיו֙ his wives nā·šāw הִטּ֣וּ turned hiṭ·ṭū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לְבָב֔וֹ his heart lə·ḇā·ḇōw אַחֲרֵ֖י after ’a·ḥă·rê אֲחֵרִ֑ים other ’ă·ḥê·rîm אֱלֹהִ֣ים gods , ’ĕ·lō·hîm הָיָ֨ה and he was hā·yāh וְלֹא־ not wə·lō- לְבָב֤וֹ wholeheartedly lə·ḇā·ḇōw שָׁלֵם֙ devoted šā·lêm עִם־ to ‘im- יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהָ֔יו his God , ’ĕ·lō·hāw
