בְּעֵינוֹ . . . bə·ʿē·nō רְאֵה֙ . . . rə·’êh וְיַ֛עַל and offer it up . wə·ya·‘al הַבָּקָ֣ר Here are the oxen hab·bā·qār לָעֹלָ֔ה for a burnt offering lā·‘ō·lāh וְהַמֹּרִגִּ֛ים and the threshing sledges wə·ham·mō·rig·gîm הַבָּקָ֖ר and ox hab·bā·qār וּכְלֵ֥י yokes ū·ḵə·lê לָעֵצִֽים׃ for the wood . lā·‘ê·ṣîm 2 Samuel 24:23 הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ O king , ham·me·leḵ אֲרַ֥וְנָה Araunah ’ă·raw·nāh נָתַ֛ן gives nā·ṯan הַכֹּ֗ל all these hak·kōl לַמֶּ֑לֶךְס to the king . ” lam·mɛ·lɛḵs אֲרַ֙וְנָה֙ [He] also ’ă·raw·nāh וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king , ham·me·leḵ יְהוָ֥ה “ May YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā יִרְצֶֽךָ׃ accept you . ” yir·ṣe·ḵā 2 Samuel 24:24 לֹ֚א “ No , ” lō וַיֹּ֨אמֶר replied way·yō·mer הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ אֶל־ - ’el- אֲרַ֗וְנָה - , ’ă·raw·nāh כִּֽי־ - kî- קָנ֨וֹ “ I insist on paying qā·nōw אֶקְנֶ֤ה . . . ’eq·neh מֵאֽוֹתְךָ֙ - mê·’ō·wṯ·ḵā בִּמְחִ֔יר a price , bim·ḥîr וְלֹ֧א for I will not wə·lō אַעֲלֶ֛ה offer ’a·‘ă·leh לַיהוָ֥ה to YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהַ֖י my God ’ĕ·lō·hay עֹל֣וֹת burnt offerings ‘ō·lō·wṯ חִנָּ֑ם that cost me nothing . ” ḥin·nām דָּוִ֤ד So David dā·wiḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּ֨קֶן bought way·yi·qen הַגֹּ֙רֶן֙ the threshing floor hag·gō·ren וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַבָּקָ֔ר and the oxen hab·bā·qār חֲמִשִּֽׁים׃ for fifty ḥă·miš·šîm שְׁקָלִ֥ים shekels šə·qā·lîm בְּכֶ֖סֶף of silver . bə·ḵe·sep̄ 2 Samuel 24:25 דָּוִ֤ד And dā·wiḏ שָׁ֨ם there šām וַיִּבֶן֩ he built way·yi·ḇen מִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ an altar miz·bê·aḥ לַֽיהוָ֔ה to YHWH Yah·weh וַיַּ֥עַל and offered way·ya·‘al עֹל֖וֹת burnt offerings ‘ō·lō·wṯ וּשְׁלָמִ֑ים and peace offerings . ū·šə·lā·mîm יְהוָה֙ Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיֵּעָתֵ֤ר answered the prayers way·yê·‘ā·ṯêr לָאָ֔רֶץ on behalf of the land , lā·’ā·reṣ הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה and the plague ham·mag·gê·p̄āh מֵעַ֥ל upon mê·‘al יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַתֵּעָצַ֥ר was halted . wat·tê·‘ā·ṣar 1 Kings 1:1 וְהַמֶּ֤לֶךְ Now King wə·ham·me·leḵ דָּוִד֙ David dā·wiḏ זָקֵ֔ן was old zā·qên בָּ֖א and well along bā בַּיָּמִ֑ים in years , bay·yā·mîm וַיְכַסֻּ֙הוּ֙ and though they covered him way·ḵas·su·hū בַּבְּגָדִ֔ים with blankets , bab·bə·ḡā·ḏîm וְלֹ֥א he could not wə·lō יִחַ֖ם keep warm . yi·ḥam לֽוֹ׃ lōw 1 Kings 1:2 עֲבָדָ֗יו So his servants ‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw וַיֹּ֧אמְרוּ said way·yō·mə·rū ל֣וֹ to him , lōw יְבַקְשׁ֞וּ “ Let us search for yə·ḇaq·šū נַעֲרָ֣ה a young na·‘ă·rāh בְתוּלָ֔ה virgin ḇə·ṯū·lāh לַאדֹנִ֤י for our lord la·ḏō·nî הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ the king , ham·me·leḵ וְעָֽמְדָה֙ to attend wə·‘ā·mə·ḏāh לִפְנֵ֣י to lip̄·nê הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ [him] ham·me·leḵ וּתְהִי־ and ū·ṯə·hî- סֹכֶ֑נֶת care sō·ḵe·neṯ ל֖וֹ for him lōw
