בְּאַרְצֶ֡ךָ in your land , bə·’ar·ṣe·ḵā אִם־ - ’im- שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה three šə·lō·šāh חֳ֠דָשִׁים months ḥo·ḏā·šîm נֻסְךָ֨ of fleeing nus·ḵā וְה֣וּא vvv wə·hū רֹדְפֶ֗ךָ the pursuit rō·ḏə·p̄e·ḵā לִפְנֵֽי־ of lip̄·nê- צָרֶ֜יךָ your enemies , ṣā·re·ḵā וְאִם־ or wə·’im- שְׁלֹ֨שֶׁת three šə·lō·šeṯ יָמִ֥ים days yā·mîm הֱ֠יוֹת of hĕ·yō·wṯ דֶּ֙בֶר֙ plague de·ḇer בְּאַרְצֶ֔ךָ upon your land ? bə·’ar·ṣe·ḵā עַתָּה֙ Now then , ‘at·tāh דַּ֣ע think it over da‘ וּרְאֵ֔ה and decide ū·rə·’êh מָה־ how māh- דָּבָֽר׃ס I should reply dā·ḇār אָשִׁ֥יב . . . ’ā·šîḇ שֹׁלְחִ֖י to Him who sent me . ” šō·lə·ḥî 2 Samuel 24:14 דָּוִ֛ד David dā·wiḏ אֶל־ . . . ’el- וַיֹּ֧אמֶר answered way·yō·mer גָּ֖ד Gad , gāḏ לִ֣י “ I am lî מְאֹ֑ד deeply mə·’ōḏ צַר־ distressed . ṣar- נָּ֤א Please , nā נִפְּלָה־ let us fall nip·pə·lāh- בְיַד־ into the hand ḇə·yaḏ- יְהוָה֙ of YHWH , Yah·weh כִּֽי־ for kî- רַחֲמוֹ His mercies [are] ra·ḥă·mō רַבִּ֣ים great ; rab·bîm אַל־ but do not ’al- אֶפֹּֽלָה׃ let me fall ’ep·pō·lāh וּבְיַד־ into the hands ū·ḇə·yaḏ- אָדָ֖ם of men . ” ’ā·ḏām 2 Samuel 24:15 יְהוָ֥ה So YHWH Yah·weh וַיִּתֵּ֨ן sent way·yit·tên דֶּ֙בֶר֙ a plague de·ḇer בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל upon Israel bə·yiś·rā·’êl מֵהַבֹּ֖קֶר from that morning mê·hab·bō·qer וְעַד־ until wə·‘aḏ- מוֹעֵ֑ד the appointed mō·w·‘êḏ עֵ֣ת time , ‘êṯ שִׁבְעִ֥ים and seventy šiḇ·‘îm אֶ֖לֶף thousand ’e·lep̄ הָעָ֗ם of the people hā·‘ām מִן־ from min- מִדָּן֙ Dan mid·dān וְעַד־ to wə·‘aḏ- בְּאֵ֣ר vvv bə·’êr שֶׁ֔בַע Beersheba še·ḇa‘ אִֽישׁ׃ - ’îš וַיָּ֣מָת died . way·yā·māṯ 2 Samuel 24:16 הַמַּלְאָ֥ךְ׀ But when the angel ham·mal·’āḵ וַיִּשְׁלַח֩ stretched way·yiš·laḥ יָד֨וֹ out his hand yā·ḏōw לְשַׁחֲתָהּ֒ to destroy lə·ša·ḥă·ṯāh יְרֽוּשָׁלִַם֮ Jerusalem , yə·rū·šā·lim יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh וַיִּנָּ֤חֶם relented way·yin·nā·ḥem אֶל־ from ’el- הָ֣רָעָ֔ה the calamity hā·rā·‘āh וַ֠יֹּאמֶר and said way·yō·mer לַמַּלְאָ֞ךְ to the angel lam·mal·’āḵ הַמַּשְׁחִ֤ית who was destroying ham·maš·ḥîṯ בָּעָם֙ the people , bā·‘ām רַ֔ב “ Enough ! raḇ הֶ֣רֶף Withdraw he·rep̄ יָדֶ֑ךָ your hand yā·ḏe·ḵā עַתָּ֖ה now ! ” ‘at·tāh וּמַלְאַ֤ךְ At that time the angel ū·mal·’aḵ יְהוָה֙ of YHWH Yah·weh הָיָ֔ה was hā·yāh עִם־ by ‘im- גֹּ֖רֶן the threshing floor gō·ren הָאוֹרְנָה of Araunah hå̄·ʾō·rə·nå̄h הַיְבֻסִֽי׃ס the Jebusite . hay·ḇu·sî 2 Samuel 24:17 דָּוִ֨ד When David dā·wiḏ בִּרְאֹת֣וֹ׀ saw bir·’ō·ṯōw אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- הַמַּלְאָ֣ךְ׀ the angel ham·mal·’āḵ הַמַּכֶּ֣ה striking down ham·mak·keh בָעָ֗ם the people , ḇā·‘ām
