מֵא֖וֹת hundred [men] , mê·’ō·wṯ חָלָ֑ל killed [them] , ḥā·lāl וְלוֹ־ and won wə·lōw- שֵׁ֖ם a name šêm בַּשְּׁלֹשָֽׁה׃ along with [the] Three . baš·šə·lō·šāh 2 Samuel 23:19 הֲכִ֣י Was he not hă·ḵî נִכְבָּ֔ד more honored niḵ·bāḏ מִן־ than min- הַשְּׁלֹשָׁה֙ the Three ? haš·šə·lō·šāh וַיְהִ֥י And he became way·hî לָהֶ֖ם their lā·hem לְשָׂ֑ר commander , lə·śār וְעַד־ . . . wə·‘aḏ- לֹא־ even though he was not lō- בָֽא׃ס included ḇā הַשְּׁלֹשָׁ֖ה among the Three . haš·šə·lō·šāh 2 Samuel 23:20 וּבְנָיָ֨הוּ And Benaiah ū·ḇə·nā·yā·hū בֶן־ son ḇen- יְהוֹיָדָ֧ע of Jehoiada yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘ בֶּן־ vvv ben- אִֽישׁ־ [was] a man ’îš- חַי of valor ḥay מִֽקַּבְצְאֵ֑ל from Kabzeel , miq·qaḇ·ṣə·’êl רַב־ a man of many raḇ- פְּעָלִ֖ים exploits . pə·‘ā·lîm ה֣וּא [He] hū הִכָּ֗ה struck down hik·kāh אֵ֣ת - ’êṯ שְׁנֵ֤י two šə·nê אֲרִאֵל֙ champions ’ă·ri·’êl מוֹאָ֔ב of Moab , mō·w·’āḇ הַשָּֽׁלֶג׃ and on a snowy haš·šā·leḡ בְּי֥וֹם day bə·yō·wm וְ֠הוּא he wə·hū יָרַ֞ד went down yā·raḏ בְּת֥וֹךְ into bə·ṯō·wḵ הַבֹּ֖אר a pit hab·bōr וְהִכָּ֧ה and killed wə·hik·kāh אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- הָאֲרִיַּה a lion . hå̄·ʾă·rī·yah 2 Samuel 23:21 וְהוּא־ He wə·hū- הִכָּה֩ also killed hik·kāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִצְרִ֜י an Egyptian , miṣ·rî אֲשֶׁר - ʾă·šɛr מַרְאֶ֗ה a huge mar·’eh אִ֨ישׁ man . ’îš הַמִּצְרִי֙ Although the Egyptian ham·miṣ·rî חֲנִ֔ית had a spear ḥă·nîṯ וּבְיַ֤ד in his hand , ū·ḇə·yaḏ וַיֵּ֥רֶד Benaiah went against way·yê·reḏ אֵלָ֖יו him ’ê·lāw בַּשָּׁ֑בֶט with a club , baš·šā·ḇeṭ וַיִּגְזֹ֤ל snatched way·yiḡ·zōl אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- הַחֲנִית֙ the spear ha·ḥă·nîṯ הַמִּצְרִ֔י from [his] ham·miṣ·rî מִיַּ֣ד hand , mî·yaḏ וַיַּהַרְגֵ֖הוּ and killed [the Egyptian] way·ya·har·ḡê·hū בַּחֲנִיתֽוֹ׃ with his own spear . ba·ḥă·nî·ṯōw 2 Samuel 23:22 אֵ֣לֶּה These ’êl·leh עָשָׂ֔ה were the exploits ‘ā·śāh בְּנָיָ֖הוּ of Benaiah bə·nā·yā·hū בֶּן־ son ben- יְהוֹיָדָ֑ע of Jehoiada , yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘ וְלוֹ־ who won wə·lōw- שֵׁ֖ם a name šêm בִּשְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה alongside the three biš·lō·šāh הַגִּבֹּרִֽים׃ mighty men . hag·gib·bō·rîm 2 Samuel 23:23 נִכְבָּ֔ד He was most honored niḵ·bāḏ מִן־ among min- הַשְּׁלֹשִׁ֣ים the Thirty , haš·šə·lō·šîm וְאֶל־ wə·’el- לֹא־ but he did not lō- בָ֑א become ḇā הַשְּׁלֹשָׁ֖ה one of the Three . haš·šə·lō·šāh דָוִ֖ד And David ḏā·wiḏ וַיְשִׂמֵ֥הוּ appointed him way·śi·mê·hū אֶל־ over ’el- מִשְׁמַעְתּֽוֹ׃ס his guard . miš·ma‘·tōw 2 Samuel 23:24 בַּשְּׁלֹשִׁ֑ים Now [these were members of] the Thirty : baš·šə·lō·šîm עֲשָׂה־ vvv ‘ă·śāh-
