דִּבְרֵ֣י to the words diḇ·rê אֲמָתֶ֔ךָ of your servant , ” ’ă·mā·ṯe·ḵā וַתֹּ֣אמֶר she said wat·tō·mer ל֗וֹ . lōw אָנֹֽכִי׃ “ I am ’ā·nō·ḵî שֹׁמֵ֥עַ listening , ” šō·mê·a‘ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר he answered . way·yō·mer 2 Samuel 20:18 וַתֹּ֖אמֶר Then [the woman] said wat·tō·mer לֵאמֹ֑ר . . . , lê·mōr בָרִֽאשֹׁנָה֙ “ Long ago ḇā·ri·šō·nāh לֵאמֹ֔ר . . . lê·mōr דַּבֵּ֨ר they used to say dab·bêr יְדַבְּר֤וּ . . . , yə·ḏab·bə·rū שָׁאֹ֧ל ‘ Seek counsel šā·’ōl יְשָׁאֲל֛וּ . . . yə·šā·’ă·lū בְּאָבֵ֖ל at Abel , ’ bə·’ā·ḇêl וְכֵ֥ן and that is how wə·ḵên הֵתַֽמּוּ׃ disputes were settled . hê·ṯam·mū 2 Samuel 20:19 אָנֹכִ֕י I [am] ’ā·nō·ḵî שְׁלֻמֵ֖י [among the] peaceable šə·lu·mê אֱמוּנֵ֣י [and] faithful ’ĕ·mū·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל in Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אַתָּ֣ה but you are ’at·tāh מְבַקֵּ֗שׁ trying mə·ḇaq·qêš לְהָמִ֨ית to destroy lə·hā·mîṯ עִ֤יר a city ‘îr וְאֵם֙ that is a mother wə·’êm בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל in Israel . bə·yiś·rā·’êl לָ֥מָּה Why lām·māh תְבַלַּ֖ע would you swallow up ṯə·ḇal·la‘ יְהוָֽה׃פ YHWH’s Yah·weh נַחֲלַ֥ת inheritance ? ” na·ḥă·laṯ 2 Samuel 20:20 חָלִ֤ילָה “ Far be it ! ” ḥā·lî·lāh יוֹאָ֖ב Joab yō·w·’āḇ וַיֹּאמַ֑ר declared way·yō·mar וַיַּ֥עַן . way·ya·‘an חָלִ֙ילָה֙ “ Far be it ḥā·lî·lāh לִ֔י from me lî אִם־ to ’im- אֲבַלַּ֖ע swallow up ’ă·ḇal·la‘ וְאִם־ or wə·’im- אַשְׁחִֽית׃ destroy ! ’aš·ḥîṯ 2 Samuel 20:21 הַדָּבָ֗ר That [is] had·dā·ḇār לֹא־ not lō- כֵ֣ן the case . ḵên כִּ֡י But kî אִישׁ֩ a man ’îš שְׁמ֗וֹ named šə·mōw שֶׁ֧בַע Sheba še·ḇa‘ בֶּן־ son ben- בִּכְרִ֣י of Bichri , biḵ·rî מֵהַ֨ר from the hill country mê·har אֶפְרַ֜יִם of Ephraim , ’ep̄·ra·yim נָשָׂ֤א has lifted nā·śā יָדוֹ֙ up his hand yā·ḏōw בַּמֶּ֣לֶךְ against the king , bam·me·leḵ בְּדָוִ֔ד against David . bə·ḏā·wiḏ תְּנֽוּ־ Deliver tə·nū- אֹת֣וֹ him ’ō·ṯōw לְבַדּ֔וֹ alone , lə·ḇad·dōw וְאֵלְכָ֖ה and I will depart wə·’ê·lə·ḵāh מֵעַ֣ל from mê·‘al הָעִ֑יר the city . ” hā·‘îr הִנֵּ֥ה “ Look , ” hin·nêh הָֽאִשָּׁה֙ the woman hā·’iš·šāh וַתֹּ֤אמֶר replied wat·tō·mer אֶל־ - ’el- יוֹאָ֔ב - , yō·w·’āḇ רֹאשׁ֛וֹ “ his head rō·šōw מֻשְׁלָ֥ךְ will be thrown muš·lāḵ אֵלֶ֖יךָ to you ’ê·le·ḵā בְּעַ֥ד over bə·‘aḏ הַחוֹמָֽה׃ the wall . ” ha·ḥō·w·māh 2 Samuel 20:22 הָאִשָּׁ֨ה Then the woman hā·’iš·šāh וַתָּבוֹא֩ went wat·tā·ḇō·w אֶל־ to ’el- כָּל־ all kāl- הָעָ֜ם the people hā·‘ām בְּחָכְמָתָ֗הּ with her wise counsel , bə·ḥā·ḵə·mā·ṯāh וַֽיִּכְרְת֞וּ and they cut off way·yiḵ·rə·ṯū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- רֹ֨אשׁ the head rōš שֶׁ֤בַע of Sheba še·ḇa‘ בֶּן־ son ben- בִּכְרִי֙ of Bichri biḵ·rî
