קָרָ֛א he called qā·rā שֵֽׁם־ . . . šêm- הַה֖וּא that ha·hū בַּ֥עַל ba·‘al הַמָּק֥וֹם place ham·mā·qō·wm פְּרָצִֽים׃ Baal-perazim . pə·rā·ṣîm 2 Samuel 5:21 שָׁ֖ם There šām וַיַּעַזְבוּ־ the Philistines abandoned way·ya·‘az·ḇū- עֲצַבֵּיהֶ֑ם their idols , ‘ă·ṣab·bê·hem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דָּוִ֖ד and David dā·wiḏ וַאֲנָשָֽׁיו׃פ and his men wa·’ă·nā·šāw וַיִּשָּׂאֵ֥ם carried them away . way·yiś·śā·’êm 2 Samuel 5:22 וַיֹּסִ֥פוּ Once again way·yō·si·p̄ū ע֛וֹד . . . ‘ō·wḏ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים the Philistines pə·liš·tîm לַֽעֲל֑וֹת came up la·‘ă·lō·wṯ וַיִּנָּֽטְשׁ֖וּ and spread out way·yin·nā·ṭə·šū בְּעֵ֥מֶק in the Valley bə·‘ê·meq רְפָאִֽים׃ of Rephaim . rə·p̄ā·’îm 2 Samuel 5:23 דָּוִד֙ So David dā·wiḏ וַיִּשְׁאַ֤ל inquired way·yiš·’al בַּֽיהוָ֔ה of YHWH , Yah·weh וַיֹּ֖אמֶר who answered , way·yō·mer לֹ֣א “ Do not lō תַעֲלֶ֑ה march straight up , ṯa·‘ă·leh הָסֵב֙ but circle hā·sêḇ אֶל־ around ’el- אַ֣חֲרֵיהֶ֔ם behind them ’a·ḥă·rê·hem וּבָ֥אתָ and attack ū·ḇā·ṯā לָהֶ֖ם them lā·hem מִמּ֥וּל in front mim·mūl בְּכָאִֽים׃ of the balsam trees . bə·ḵā·’îm 2 Samuel 5:24 וִ֠יהִי As soon as wî·hî בְּשָׁמְעֲךָ you hear bə·šå̄·mə·ʿă·ḵå̄ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- ק֧וֹל the sound qō·wl צְעָדָ֛ה of marching ṣə·‘ā·ḏāh בְּרָאשֵׁ֥י in the tops bə·rā·šê הַבְּכָאִ֖ים of the balsam trees , hab·bə·ḵā·’îm תֶּחֱרָ֑ץ move quickly , te·ḥĕ·rāṣ כִּ֣י because kî אָ֗ז this will mean that ’āz אָ֣ז . . . ’āz יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh יָצָ֤א has marched out yā·ṣā לְפָנֶ֔יךָ before you lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā לְהַכּ֖וֹת to strike lə·hak·kō·wṯ בְּמַחֲנֵ֥ה the camp bə·ma·ḥă·nêh פְלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ of the Philistines . ” p̄ə·liš·tîm 2 Samuel 5:25 דָּוִד֙ So David dā·wiḏ כֵּ֔ן . . . kên וַיַּ֤עַשׂ did way·ya·‘aś כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר as ka·’ă·šer יְהוָ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh צִוָּ֖הוּ had commanded him , ṣiw·wā·hū וַיַּךְ֙ and he struck down way·yaḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים the Philistines pə·liš·tîm מִגֶּ֖בַע all the way from Gibeon mig·ge·ḇa‘ עַד־ to ‘aḏ- בֹּאֲךָ֥ . . . bō·’ă·ḵā גָֽזֶר׃פ Gezer . ḡā·zer 2 Samuel 6:1 דָּוִ֛ד David dā·wiḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- ע֥וֹד again ‘ō·wḏ וַיֹּ֨סֶף assembled way·yō·sep̄ בָּח֥וּר [the] chosen [men] bā·ḥūr בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel , bə·yiś·rā·’êl שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים thirty šə·lō·šîm אָֽלֶף׃ thousand ’ā·lep̄ כָּל־ in all . kāl- 2 Samuel 6:2 וַיָּ֣קָם׀ - way·yā·qām דָּוִ֗ד And he dā·wiḏ וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl הָעָם֙ his troops hā·‘ām אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer אִתּ֔וֹ - ’it·tōw וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ set out way·yê·leḵ
