לְנַעֲר֥וֹ to his servant lə·na·‘ă·rōw אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- עִמּ֖וֹ - , ‘im·mōw לְכָ֣ה “ Come , lə·ḵāh וְנָשׁ֑וּבָה let us go back , wə·nā·šū·ḇāh פֶּן־ or pen- אָבִ֛י my father ’ā·ḇî יֶחְדַּ֥ל will stop [worrying] yeḥ·dal מִן־ about min- הָאֲתֹנ֖וֹת the donkeys hā·’ă·ṯō·nō·wṯ וְדָ֥אַג and start worrying wə·ḏā·’aḡ לָֽנוּ׃ about us .” lā·nū 1 Samuel 9:6 הִנֵּה־ “ Look , ” hin·nêh- נָ֤א . . . nā וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said the servant way·yō·mer ל֗וֹ , lōw הַזֹּ֔את “ in this haz·zōṯ בָּעִ֣יר city bā·‘îr אִישׁ־ there is a man ’îš- אֱלֹהִים֙ of God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וְהָאִ֣ישׁ who wə·hā·’îš נִכְבָּ֔ד is highly respected ; niḵ·bāḏ כֹּ֥ל everything kōl אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- יְדַבֵּ֖ר he says yə·ḏab·bêr בּ֣וֹא surely bō·w יָב֑וֹא comes to pass . yā·ḇō·w נֵ֣לֲכָה Let us go nê·lă·ḵāh שָּׁ֔ם there šām עַתָּה֙ now . ‘at·tāh אוּלַי֙ Perhaps ’ū·lay יַגִּ֣יד he will tell yag·gîḏ לָ֔נוּ us lā·nū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲשֶׁר־ which ’ă·šer- דַּרְכֵּ֖נוּ way dar·kê·nū הָלַ֥כְנוּ to go hā·laḵ·nū עָלֶֽיהָ׃ . . . .” ‘ā·le·hā 1 Samuel 9:7 וְהִנֵּ֣ה “ If wə·hin·nêh נֵלֵךְ֮ we do go , ” nê·lêḵ שָׁא֜וּל Saul šā·’ūl וַיֹּ֨אמֶר replied way·yō·mer לְנַעֲר֗וֹ - , lə·na·‘ă·rōw וּמַה־ “ what ū·mah- נָּבִ֣יא can we give nā·ḇî לָאִישׁ֒ the man ? lā·’îš כִּ֤י For kî הַלֶּ֙חֶם֙ the bread hal·le·ḥem מִכֵּלֵ֔ינוּ in our packs mik·kê·lê·nū אָזַ֣ל is gone , ’ā·zal אֵין־ and there is no ’ên- וּתְשׁוּרָ֥ה gift ū·ṯə·šū·rāh לְהָבִ֖יא to take lə·hā·ḇî לְאִ֣ישׁ to the man lə·’îš הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים of God . hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm מָ֖ה What māh אִתָּֽנוּ׃ do we have ?” ’it·tā·nū 1 Samuel 9:8 הַנַּ֙עַר֙ The servant han·na·‘ar לַעֲנ֣וֹת answered la·‘ă·nō·wṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שָׁא֔וּל [him] šā·’ūl וַיֹּ֤סֶף again . way·yō·sep̄ הִנֵּה֙ “ Look , ” hin·nêh וַיֹּ֕אמֶר he said , way·yō·mer נִמְצָ֣א “ I have here nim·ṣā בְיָדִ֔י in my hand ḇə·yā·ḏî רֶ֖בַע a quarter re·ḇa‘ שֶׁ֣קֶל shekel še·qel כָּ֑סֶף of silver . kā·sep̄ וְנָֽתַתִּי֙ I will give wə·nā·ṯat·tî לְאִ֣ישׁ it to the man lə·’îš הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים of God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וְהִגִּ֥יד and he will tell wə·hig·gîḏ לָ֖נוּ us lā·nū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דַּרְכֵּֽנוּ׃ our way .” dar·kê·nū 1 Samuel 9:9 לְפָנִ֣ים׀ ( Formerly lə·p̄ā·nîm בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל in Israel , bə·yiś·rā·’êl כֹּֽה־ . . . kōh- הָאִישׁ֙ a man hā·’îš בְּלֶכְתּוֹ֙ on his way bə·leḵ·tōw לִדְר֣וֹשׁ to inquire liḏ·rō·wōš אֱלֹהִ֔ים of God ’ĕ·lō·hîm אָמַ֤ר would say , ’ā·mar לְכ֥וּ “ Come , lə·ḵū וְנֵלְכָ֖ה let us go wə·nê·lə·ḵāh עַד־ to ‘aḏ- הָרֹאֶ֑ה the seer . ” hā·rō·’eh
