חֲמוֹתָ֔הּ her mother-in-law , ḥă·mō·w·ṯāh וַתֹּ֖אמֶר Naomi asked her , wat·tō·mer מִי־ “ How did it go mî- אַ֣תְּ . . . , ’at בִּתִּ֑י my daughter ? ” bit·tî וַתַּ֨גֶּד־ Then Ruth told wat·tag·geḏ- לָ֔הּ her lāh אֵ֛ת - ’êṯ כָּל־ all kāl- אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer הָאִֽישׁ׃ [Boaz] hā·’îš עָֽשָׂה־ had done ‘ā·śāh- לָ֖הּ for her . lāh Ruth 3:17 וַתֹּ֕אמֶר And she said , wat·tō·mer נָ֣תַן “ He gave nā·ṯan לִ֑י me lî הָאֵ֖לֶּה these hā·’êl·leh שֵׁשׁ־ six šêš- הַשְּׂעֹרִ֥ים measures of barley , haś·śə·‘ō·rîm כִּ֚י for kî אָמַ֣רֵַ֔ he said , ʾå̄·ma·ra אַל־ ‘ Do not ’al- תָּב֥וֹאִי go back tā·ḇō·w·’î אֶל־ to ’el- חֲמוֹתֵֽךְ׃ your mother-in-law ḥă·mō·w·ṯêḵ רֵיקָ֖ם empty-handed . ’” rê·qām Ruth 3:18 שְׁבִ֣י “ Wait , šə·ḇî בִתִּ֔י my daughter , ” ḇit·tî וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ said Naomi , wat·tō·mer עַ֚ד “ until ‘aḏ אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer תֵּֽדְעִ֔ין you find out tê·ḏə·‘în אֵ֖יךְ how ’êḵ דָּבָ֑ר things dā·ḇār יִפֹּ֣ל go , yip·pōl כִּ֣י for kî הָאִ֔ישׁ he hā·’îš לֹ֤א will not lō יִשְׁקֹט֙ rest yiš·qōṭ כִּֽי־ unless kî- אִם־ . . . ’im- כִּלָּ֥ה he has resolved kil·lāh הַדָּבָ֖ר the matter had·dā·ḇār הַיּֽוֹם׃ today . ” hay·yō·wm Ruth 4:1 וּבֹ֨עַז Meanwhile, Boaz ū·ḇō·‘az עָלָ֣ה went ‘ā·lāh הַשַּׁעַר֮ to the gate haš·ša·‘ar וַיֵּ֣שֶׁב and sat down way·yê·šeḇ שָׁם֒ there . šām וְהִנֵּ֨ה Soon wə·hin·nêh הַגֹּאֵ֤ל the kinsman-redeemer hag·gō·’êl בֹּ֔עַז of whom [he] bō·‘az דִּבֶּר־ had spoken dib·ber- עֹבֵר֙ came along , ‘ō·ḇêr אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer וַיֹּ֛אמֶר and Boaz said , way·yō·mer ס֥וּרָה “ Come over sū·rāh פֹּ֖ה here , pōh פְּלֹנִ֣י my friend pə·lō·nî אַלְמֹנִ֑י . . . , ’al·mō·nî שְׁבָה־ and sit down . ” šə·ḇāh- וַיָּ֖סַר So he went over way·yā·sar וַיֵּשֵֽׁב׃ and sat down . way·yê·šêḇ Ruth 4:2 וַיִּקַּ֞ח Then Boaz took way·yiq·qaḥ עֲשָׂרָ֧ה ten ‘ă·śā·rāh אֲנָשִׁ֛ים . . . ’ă·nā·šîm מִזִּקְנֵ֥י of the elders miz·ziq·nê הָעִ֖יר of the city hā·‘îr וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and said , way·yō·mer שְׁבוּ־ “ Sit šə·ḇū- פֹ֑ה here , ” p̄ōh וַיֵּשֵֽׁבוּ׃ and they did so . way·yê·šê·ḇū Ruth 4:3 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ And he said way·yō·mer לַגֹּאֵ֔ל to the kinsman-redeemer , lag·gō·’êl נָעֳמִ֔י “ Naomi , nā·‘o·mî הַשָּׁ֖בָה who has returned haš·šā·ḇāh מִשְּׂדֵ֥ה from the land miś·śə·ḏêh מוֹאָֽב׃ of Moab , mō·w·’āḇ מָכְרָ֣ה is selling mā·ḵə·rāh חֶלְקַת֙ the piece ḥel·qaṯ הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה of land haś·śā·ḏeh אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer לְאָחִ֖ינוּ belonged to our brother lə·’ā·ḥî·nū לֶאֱלִימֶ֑לֶךְ Elimelech . le·’ĕ·lî·me·leḵ
