הָעָ֣םthat the peoplehā·‘ām
אֲשֶׁר־-’ă·šer-
בְּקִרְבָּ֣הּ-bə·qir·bāh
יוֹשֶֽׁבֶת־were livingyō·wō·še·ḇeṯ-
לָ֠בֶטַח securely , lā·ḇe·ṭaḥ
כְּמִשְׁפַּ֨טlikekə·miš·paṭ
צִדֹנִ֜ים the Sidonians , ṣi·ḏō·nîm
שֹׁקֵ֣ט׀tranquilšō·qêṭ
וּבֹטֵ֗חַand unsuspecting .ū·ḇō·ṭê·aḥ
וְאֵין־There was nothingwə·’ên-
דָּבָ֤ר. . .dā·ḇār
מַכְלִ֨יםlackingmaḵ·lîm
בָּאָ֙רֶץ֙in the landbā·’ā·reṣ
יוֹרֵ֣שׁand no oppressiveyō·w·rêš
עֶ֔צֶרruler .‘e·ṣer
הֵ֙מָּה֙And theyhêm·māh
וּרְחֹקִ֥יםwere far awayū·rə·ḥō·qîm
מִצִּ֣דֹנִ֔יםfrom the Sidoniansmiṣ·ṣi·ḏō·nîm
אֵין־and had no’ên-
לָהֶ֖ם. . .lā·hem
וְדָבָ֥רalliancewə·ḏā·ḇār
עִם־with‘im-

אַתֶּֽם׃did you find ? ”’at·tem

רָאִ֙ינוּ֙we have seenrā·’î·nū
אֶת־-’eṯ-
הָאָ֔רֶץ the land , hā·’ā·reṣ
וְהִנֵּ֥ה. . .wə·hin·nêh
מְאֹ֑דand it is verymə·’ōḏ
טוֹבָ֖הgood .ṭō·w·ḇāh
וְאַתֶּ֣םWhy would you fail to actwə·’at·tem
מַחְשִׁ֔ים. . . ?maḥ·šîm
אַל־Do not’al-
תֵּעָ֣צְל֔וּhesitatetê·‘ā·ṣə·lū
לָלֶ֥כֶתto go therelā·le·ḵeṯ
