מִצָּרְעָ֛ה from Zorah miṣ·ṣā·rə·‘āh וּשְׁמ֣וֹ named ū·šə·mōw מָנ֑וֹחַ Manoah , mā·nō·w·aḥ מִמִּשְׁפַּ֥חַת from the clan mim·miš·pa·ḥaṯ הַדָּנִ֖י of the Danites , had·dā·nî וְאִשְׁתּ֥וֹ whose wife [was] wə·’iš·tōw עֲקָרָ֖ה barren ‘ă·qā·rāh וְלֹ֥א and had no wə·lō יָלָֽדָה׃ children . yā·lā·ḏāh Judges 13:3 מַלְאַךְ־ The angel mal·’aḵ- יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיֵּרָ֥א appeared way·yê·rā אֶל־ to ’el- הָאִשָּׁ֑ה the woman hā·’iš·šāh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and said way·yō·mer אֵלֶ֗יהָ to her , ’ê·le·hā הִנֵּה־ “ It is true hin·nêh- נָ֤א . . . nā אַתְּ־ that you ’at- עֲקָרָה֙ are barren ‘ă·qā·rāh וְלֹ֣א and have no wə·lō יָלַ֔דְתְּ children ; yā·laḏt וְהָרִ֖ית but you will conceive wə·hā·rîṯ וְיָלַ֥דְתְּ and give birth to wə·yā·laḏt בֵּֽן׃ a son . bên Judges 13:4 וְעַתָּה֙ Now wə·‘at·tāh נָ֔א please nā הִשָּׁ֣מְרִי be careful hiš·šā·mə·rî וְאַל־ not wə·’al- תִּשְׁתִּ֖י to drink tiš·tî יַ֣יִן wine ya·yin וְשֵׁכָ֑ר or strong drink , wə·šê·ḵār וְאַל־ and not wə·’al- תֹּאכְלִ֖י to eat tō·ḵə·lî כָּל־ anything kāl- טָמֵֽא׃ unclean . ṭā·mê Judges 13:5 כִּי֩ For kî הִנָּ֨ךְ behold , hin·nāḵ הָרָ֜ה you will conceive hā·rāh וְיֹלַ֣דְתְּ and give birth to wə·yō·laḏt בֵּ֗ן a son . bên לֹא־ And no lō- וּמוֹרָה֙ razor ū·mō·w·rāh יַעֲלֶ֣ה shall come ya·‘ă·leh עַל־ over ‘al- רֹאשׁ֔וֹ his head , rō·šōw כִּֽי־ because kî- הַנַּ֖עַר the boy han·na·‘ar יִהְיֶ֥ה will be yih·yeh נְזִ֧יר a Nazirite nə·zîr אֱלֹהִ֛ים to God ’ĕ·lō·hîm מִן־ from min- הַבָּ֑טֶן the womb , hab·bā·ṭen וְה֗וּא and he wə·hū יָחֵ֛ל will begin yā·ḥêl לְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַ the deliverance lə·hō·wō·šî·a‘ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl מִיַּ֥ד from the hand mî·yaḏ פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ of the Philistines . ” pə·liš·tîm Judges 13:6 הָאִשָּׁ֗ה So the woman hā·’iš·šāh וַתָּבֹ֣א went wat·tā·ḇō וַתֹּ֣אמֶר and told wat·tō·mer לְאִישָׁהּ֮ her husband , lə·’î·šāh לֵאמֹר֒ . . . lê·mōr אִ֤ישׁ “ A man ’îš הָאֱלֹהִים֙ of God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm בָּ֣א came bā אֵלַ֔י to me . ’ê·lay וּמַרְאֵ֕הוּ His appearance was like ū·mar·’ê·hū כְּמַרְאֵ֛ה kə·mar·’êh מַלְאַ֥ךְ the angel mal·’aḵ הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים of God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm מְאֹ֑ד exceedingly mə·’ōḏ נוֹרָ֣א awesome . nō·w·rā וְלֹ֤א I did not wə·lō שְׁאִלְתִּ֙יהוּ֙ ask him šə·’il·tî·hū אֵֽי־ where ’ê- מִזֶּ֣ה he came from miz·zeh ה֔וּא , hū וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- לֹֽא־ and he did not lō- הִגִּ֥יד tell hig·gîḏ לִֽי׃ me lî שְׁמ֖וֹ his name . šə·mōw
