Joshua 17:4 וַתִּקְרַ֡בְנָה They approached wat·tiq·raḇ·nāh לִפְנֵי֩ . . . lip̄·nê אֶלְעָזָ֨ר Eleazar ’el·‘ā·zār הַכֹּהֵ֜ן the priest , hak·kō·hên וְלִפְנֵ֣י׀ . . . wə·lip̄·nê יְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ בִּן־ son bin- נ֗וּן of Nun , nūn וְלִפְנֵ֤י . . . wə·lip̄·nê הַנְּשִׂיאִים֙ and the leaders , han·nə·śî·’îm לֵאמֹ֔ר and said , lê·mōr יְהוָה֙ “ YHWH Yah·weh צִוָּ֣ה commanded ṣiw·wāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מֹשֶׁ֔ה Moses mō·šeh לָֽתֶת־ to give lā·ṯeṯ- לָ֥נוּ us lā·nū נַחֲלָ֖ה an inheritance na·ḥă·lāh בְּת֣וֹךְ among bə·ṯō·wḵ אַחֵ֑ינוּ our brothers . ” ’a·ḥê·nū וַיִּתֵּ֨ן So [Joshua] gave way·yit·tên לָהֶ֜ם them lā·hem נַֽחֲלָ֔ה an inheritance na·ḥă·lāh בְּת֖וֹךְ among bə·ṯō·wḵ אֲבִיהֶֽן׃ their father’s ’ă·ḇî·hen אֲחֵ֥י brothers , ’ă·ḥê אֶל־ in keeping with ’el- פִּ֤י the command of pî יְהוָה֙ YHWH . Yah·weh Joshua 17:5 עֲשָׂרָ֑ה Thus ten ‘ă·śā·rāh חַבְלֵֽי־ shares ḥaḇ·lê- וַיִּפְּל֥וּ fell way·yip·pə·lū מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה to Manasseh , mə·naš·šeh לְבַ֞ד in addition to lə·ḇaḏ מֵאֶ֤רֶץ the land mê·’e·reṣ הַגִּלְעָד֙ of Gilead hag·gil·‘āḏ וְהַבָּשָׁ֔ן and Bashan wə·hab·bā·šān אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer מֵעֵ֥בֶר beyond mê·‘ê·ḇer לַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ the Jordan , lay·yar·dên Joshua 17:6 כִּ֚י because kî בְּנ֣וֹת the daughters bə·nō·wṯ מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה of Manasseh mə·naš·šeh נָחֲל֥וּ received nā·ḥă·lū נַחֲלָ֖ה an inheritance na·ḥă·lāh בְּת֣וֹךְ among bə·ṯō·wḵ בָּנָ֑יו his sons . bā·nāw וְאֶ֙רֶץ֙ And the land wə·’e·reṣ הַגִּלְעָ֔ד of Gilead hag·gil·‘āḏ הָיְתָ֥ה belonged to hā·yə·ṯāh הַנּֽוֹתָרִֽים׃ the rest han·nō·w·ṯā·rîm לִבְנֵֽי־ of the sons liḇ·nê- מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה of Manasseh . mə·naš·šeh Joshua 17:7 גְבוּל־ Now the border ḡə·ḇūl- מְנַשֶּׁה֙ of Manasseh mə·naš·šeh וַיְהִ֤י went way·hî מֵֽאָשֵׁ֔ר from Asher mê·’ā·šêr הַֽמִּכְמְתָ֔ת to Michmethath ham·miḵ·mə·ṯāṯ אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer עַל־ near ‘al- פְּנֵ֣י . . . pə·nê שְׁכֶ֑ם Shechem , šə·ḵem הַגְּבוּל֙ - hag·gə·ḇūl וְהָלַ֤ךְ then wə·hā·laḵ אֶל־ southward ’el- הַיָּמִ֔ין . . . hay·yā·mîn אֶל־ to include ’el- יֹשְׁבֵ֖י the inhabitants yō·šə·ḇê עֵ֥ין vvv ‘ên תַּפּֽוּחַ׃ of En-tappuah . tap·pū·aḥ Joshua 17:8 אֶ֣רֶץ The region ’e·reṣ תַּפּ֑וּחַ of Tappuah tap·pū·aḥ הָיְתָ֖ה belonged to hā·yə·ṯāh לִמְנַשֶּׁ֕ה Manasseh , lim·naš·šeh וְתַפּ֛וּחַ but Tappuah itself , wə·ṯap·pū·aḥ אֶל־ on ’el- גְּב֥וּל the border gə·ḇūl מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה of Manasseh , mə·naš·šeh לִבְנֵ֥י belonged to liḇ·nê אֶפְרָֽיִם׃ Ephraim . ’ep̄·rā·yim Joshua 17:9 הַגְּבוּל֩ From there the border hag·gə·ḇūl וְיָרַ֣ד continued wə·yā·raḏ נֶ֣גְבָּה southward neḡ·bāh נַ֨חַל to the Brook na·ḥal קָנָ֜ה of Kanah . qā·nāh
