וַיַּכֵּ֨ם struck down way·yak·kêm וַיְמִיתֵ֔ם and killed [the kings] , way·mî·ṯêm וַיִּתְלֵ֕ם and he hung way·yiṯ·lêm עַ֖ל their bodies on ‘al חֲמִשָּׁ֣ה five ḥă·miš·šāh עֵצִ֑ים trees ‘ê·ṣîm וַיִּֽהְי֛וּ and left them way·yih·yū תְּלוּיִ֥ם . . . tə·lū·yim עַל־ there ‘al- הָעֵצִ֖ים . . . hā·‘ê·ṣîm עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הָעָֽרֶב׃ evening . hā·‘ā·reḇ Joshua 10:27 וַיְהִ֞י - way·hî לְעֵ֣ת׀ - lə·‘êṯ בּ֣וֹא At sunset bō·w הַשֶּׁ֗מֶשׁ . . . haš·še·meš יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ צִוָּ֤ה ordered ṣiw·wāh וַיֹּֽרִידוּם֙ that they be taken down way·yō·rî·ḏūm מֵעַ֣ל from mê·‘al הָעֵצִ֔ים the trees hā·‘ê·ṣîm וַיַּ֨שְׁלִכֻ֔ם and thrown way·yaš·li·ḵum אֶל־ into ’el- הַמְּעָרָ֖ה the cave ham·mə·‘ā·rāh אֲשֶׁ֣ר in which ’ă·šer נֶחְבְּאוּ־ they had hidden . neḥ·bə·’ū- שָׁ֑ם . . . šām גְּדֹלוֹת֙ Then large gə·ḏō·lō·wṯ אֲבָנִ֤ים stones ’ă·ḇā·nîm וַיָּשִׂ֜מוּ were placed way·yā·śi·mū עַל־ against ‘al- פִּ֣י the mouth pî הַמְּעָרָ֔ה of the cave , ham·mə·‘ā·rāh עַד־ and the stones ‘aḏ- עֶ֖צֶם . . . ‘e·ṣem הַזֶּֽה׃פ are there to this haz·zeh הַיּ֥וֹם day . hay·yō·wm Joshua 10:28 וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַה֗וּא On that ha·hū בַּיּ֣וֹם day bay·yō·wm יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ לָכַ֨ד captured lā·ḵaḏ מַקֵּדָה֩ Makkedah maq·qê·ḏāh וַיַּכֶּ֣הָ and put it way·yak·ke·hā לְפִי־ . . . lə·p̄î- חֶרֶב֮ to the sword , ḥe·reḇ וְאֶת־ along with wə·’eṯ- מַלְכָּהּ֒ its king . mal·kāh הֶחֱרִ֣ם He devoted to destruction he·ḥĕ·rim אוֹתָ֗ם vvv ’ō·w·ṯām וְאֶת־ vvv wə·’eṯ- כָּל־ everyone kāl- הַנֶּ֙פֶשׁ֙ . . . han·ne·p̄eš אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- בָּ֔הּ in [the city] , bāh הִשְׁאִ֖יר leaving hiš·’îr לֹ֥א no lō שָׂרִ֑יד survivors . śā·rîḏ וַיַּ֙עַשׂ֙ So he did way·ya·‘aś לְמֶ֣לֶךְ to the king lə·me·leḵ מַקֵּדָ֔ה of Makkedah maq·qê·ḏāh כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר as ka·’ă·šer עָשָׂ֖ה he had done ‘ā·śāh לְמֶ֥לֶךְ to the king lə·me·leḵ יְרִיחֽוֹ׃ of Jericho . yə·rî·ḥōw Joshua 10:29 יְ֠הוֹשֻׁעַ Then Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ וְכָֽל־ and all wə·ḵāl יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl עִמּ֛וֹ with him ‘im·mōw וַיַּעֲבֹ֣ר moved on way·ya·‘ă·ḇōr מִמַּקֵּדָ֖ה from Makkedah mim·maq·qê·ḏāh לִבְנָ֑ה to Libnah liḇ·nāh וַיִּלָּ֖חֶם and fought way·yil·lā·ḥem עִם־ against ‘im- לִבְנָֽה׃ Libnah . liḇ·nāh Joshua 10:30 יְהוָ֨ה And YHWH Yah·weh גַּם־ also gam- וַיִּתֵּן֩ delivered way·yit·tên אוֹתָ֜הּ [that city] ’ō·w·ṯāh מַלְכָּהּ֒ and its king mal·kāh בְּיַ֣ד into the hand bə·yaḏ יִשְׂרָאֵ֘ל of Israel , yiś·rå̄·ʾēl וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- וַיַּכֶּ֣הָ [Joshua] put way·yak·ke·hā לְפִי־ . . . lə·p̄î- כָּל־ all kāl- הַנֶּ֙פֶשׁ֙ the people han·ne·p̄eš חֶ֗רֶב to the sword , ḥe·reḇ
