בְנֵֽי־ for the Israelite ḇə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl לְצִבְאֹתָ֑ם divisions lə·ṣiḇ·’ō·ṯām וַיִּסָּֽעוּ׃ס as they set out . way·yis·sā·‘ū Numbers 10:29 מֹשֶׁ֗ה Then Moses mō·šeh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said way·yō·mer לְ֠חֹבָב to Hobab , lə·ḥō·ḇāḇ בֶּן־ the son ben- מֹשֶׁה֒ of Moses’ mō·šeh חֹתֵ֣ן father-in-law ḥō·ṯên רְעוּאֵ֣ל Reuel rə·‘ū·’êl הַמִּדְיָנִי֮ the Midianite , ham·miḏ·yā·nî אֲנַ֗חְנוּ “ We are ’ă·naḥ·nū נֹסְעִ֣ים׀ setting out nō·sə·‘îm אֶל־ for ’el- הַמָּקוֹם֙ the place ham·mā·qō·wm אֲשֶׁ֣ר of which ’ă·šer יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אֹת֖וֹ - ’ō·ṯōw אָמַ֣ר said : ’ā·mar אֶתֵּ֣ן ‘ I will give it ’et·tên לָכֶ֑ם to you . ’ lā·ḵem לְכָ֤ה Come lə·ḵāh אִתָּ֙נוּ֙ with us , ’it·tā·nū וְהֵטַ֣בְנוּ and we will treat you well wə·hê·ṭaḇ·nū לָ֔ךְ , lāḵ כִּֽי־ for kî- יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh דִּבֶּר־ has promised dib·ber- ט֖וֹב good ṭō·wḇ עַל־ things to ‘al- יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel . ” yiś·rā·’êl Numbers 10:30 לֹ֣א “ I will not lō אֵלֵ֑ךְ go , ” ’ê·lêḵ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר [Hobab] replied way·yō·mer אֵלָ֖יו - . ’ê·lāw כִּ֧י “ Instead kî אִם־ . . . , ’im- אֵלֵֽךְ׃ I am going back ’ê·lêḵ אֶל־ to ’el- אַרְצִ֛י my own land ’ar·ṣî וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- מוֹלַדְתִּ֖י and my own people . ” mō·w·laḏ·tî Numbers 10:31 נָ֖א “ Please nā אַל־ do not ’al- תַּעֲזֹ֣ב leave us , ” ta·‘ă·zōḇ אֹתָ֑נוּ - ’ō·ṯā·nū וַיֹּ֕אמֶר Moses said , way·yō·mer כִּ֣י׀ “ since kî עַל־ . . . ‘al- כֵּ֣ן . . . kên יָדַ֗עְתָּ you know yā·ḏa‘·tā חֲנֹתֵ֙נוּ֙ where we should camp ḥă·nō·ṯê·nū בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר in the wilderness , bam·miḏ·bār וְהָיִ֥יתָ and you can serve wə·hā·yî·ṯā לָּ֖נוּ as our lā·nū לְעֵינָֽיִם׃ eyes . lə·‘ê·nā·yim Numbers 10:32 וְהָיָ֖ה - wə·hā·yāh כִּי־ If kî- תֵלֵ֣ךְ you come ṯê·lêḵ עִמָּ֑נוּ with us , ‘im·mā·nū וְהָיָ֣ה׀ - wə·hā·yāh וְהֵטַ֥בְנוּ we will share wə·hê·ṭaḇ·nū לָֽךְ׃ with you lāḵ אֲשֶׁ֨ר whatever ’ă·šer יֵיטִ֧יב . . . yê·ṭîḇ הַטּ֣וֹב good things haṭ·ṭō·wḇ הַה֗וּא . . . ha·hū יְהוָ֛ה YHWH Yah·weh עִמָּ֖נוּ gives us . ” ‘im·mā·nū Numbers 10:33 וַיִּסְעוּ֙ So they set out way·yis·‘ū שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת on a three-day šə·lō·šeṯ יָמִ֑ים . . . yā·mîm דֶּ֖רֶךְ journey de·reḵ מֵהַ֣ר from the mountain mê·har יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH , Yah·weh וַאֲר֨וֹן with the ark wa·’ă·rō·wn בְּרִית־ of the covenant bə·rîṯ- יְהוָ֜ה of YHWH Yah·weh נֹסֵ֣עַ traveling nō·sê·a‘ לִפְנֵיהֶ֗ם ahead of them lip̄·nê·hem דֶּ֚רֶךְ . . . de·reḵ שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת for those three šə·lō·šeṯ יָמִ֔ים days yā·mîm לָת֥וּר to seek lā·ṯūr
