שְׁא֣וֹל to Sheol , šə·’ō·wl יֹ֝רְד֗וֹת descending yō·rə·ḏō·wṯ אֶל־ to ’el- חַדְרֵי־ the chambers ḥaḏ·rê- מָֽוֶת׃פ of death . mā·weṯ Proverbs 8:1 הֲלֹֽא־ Does not hă·lō- חָכְמָ֥ה wisdom ḥāḵ·māh תִקְרָ֑א call out , ṯiq·rā וּ֝תְבוּנָ֗ה and understanding ū·ṯə·ḇū·nāh תִּתֵּ֥ן raise tit·tên קוֹלָֽהּ׃ her voice ? qō·w·lāh Proverbs 8:2 בְּרֹאשׁ־ On the heights bə·rōš- מְרוֹמִ֥ים . . . mə·rō·w·mîm עֲלֵי־ overlooking ‘ă·lê- דָ֑רֶךְ the road , ḏā·reḵ בֵּ֖ית at the crossroads bêṯ נְתִיב֣וֹת . . . nə·ṯî·ḇō·wṯ נִצָּֽבָה׃ she takes her stand . niṣ·ṣā·ḇāh Proverbs 8:3 לְיַד־ Beside lə·yaḏ- שְׁעָרִ֥ים the gates šə·‘ā·rîm לְפִי־ to lə·p̄î- קָ֑רֶת the city , qā·reṯ מְב֖וֹא at the entrances mə·ḇō·w פְתָחִ֣ים . . . p̄ə·ṯā·ḥîm תָּרֹֽנָּה׃ she cries out : tā·rōn·nāh Proverbs 8:4 אֲלֵיכֶ֣ם “ To you , ’ă·lê·ḵem אִישִׁ֣ים O men , ’î·šîm אֶקְרָ֑א I call out , ’eq·rā וְ֝קוֹלִ֗י and my cry wə·qō·w·lî אֶל־ is to ’el- בְּנֵ֥י the sons bə·nê אָדָֽם׃ of men . ’ā·ḏām Proverbs 8:5 פְתָאיִ֣ם O simple ones , p̄ə·ṯā·yim הָבִ֣ינוּ learn hā·ḇî·nū עָרְמָ֑ה to be shrewd ; ‘ā·rə·māh וּ֝כְסִילִ֗ים O fools , ū·ḵə·sî·lîm הָבִ֥ינוּ gain understanding hā·ḇî·nū לֵֽב׃ . . . . lêḇ Proverbs 8:6 שִׁ֭מְעוּ Listen , mə·‘ū כִּֽי־ for kî- אֲדַבֵּ֑ר I speak ’ă·ḏab·bêr נְגִידִ֣ים of noble things , nə·ḡî·ḏîm וּמִפְתַּ֥ח and the opening ū·mip̄·taḥ שְׂ֝פָתַ֗י of my lips p̄ā·ṯay מֵישָׁרִֽים׃ [will reveal] right . mê·šā·rîm Proverbs 8:7 כִּֽי־ For kî- חִכִּ֑י my mouth ḥik·kî יֶהְגֶּ֣ה will speak yeh·geh אֱ֭מֶת the truth , ’ĕ·meṯ רֶֽשַׁע׃ and wickedness re·ša‘ וְתוֹעֲבַ֖ת is detestable wə·ṯō·w·‘ă·ḇaṯ שְׂפָתַ֣י to my lips . śə·p̄ā·ṯay Proverbs 8:8 כָּל־ All kāl- אִמְרֵי־ the words ’im·rê- פִ֑י of my mouth p̄î בְּצֶ֥דֶק are righteous ; bə·ṣe·ḏeq אֵ֥ין none ’ên בָּ֝הֶ֗ם bā·hem נִפְתָּ֥ל are crooked nip̄·tāl וְעִקֵּֽשׁ׃ or perverse . wə·‘iq·qêš Proverbs 8:9 כֻּלָּ֣ם They [are] kul·lām נְ֭כֹחִים all plain nə·ḵō·ḥîm לַמֵּבִ֑ין to the discerning , lam·mê·ḇîn וִֽ֝ישָׁרִ֗ים and upright wî·šā·rîm לְמֹ֣צְאֵי to those who find lə·mō·ṣə·’ê דָֽעַת׃ knowledge . ḏā·‘aṯ Proverbs 8:10 קְחֽוּ־ Receive qə·ḥū- מוּסָרִ֥י my instruction mū·sā·rî וְאַל־ instead of wə·’al- כָּ֑סֶף silver , kā·sep̄
