כֵּ֗ן . . . kên אֵיד֑וֹ calamity ’ê·ḏōw יָב֣וֹא will come upon him yā·ḇō·w פִּ֭תְאֹם suddenly ; piṯ·’ōm פֶּ֥תַע in an instant pe·ṯa‘ יִ֝שָּׁבֵ֗ר he will be shattered yiš·šā·ḇêr וְאֵ֣ין beyond wə·’ên מַרְפֵּֽא׃פ recovery . mar·pê Proverbs 6:16 הֵ֭נָּה There are hên·nāh שֶׁשׁ־ six [things that] šeš- יְהוָ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh שָׂנֵ֣א hates , śā·nê וְ֝שֶׁ֗בַע seven wə·še·ḇa‘ תּוֹעֲבוֹת that are detestable tō·ʿă·ḇōṯ נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ to Him : nap̄·šōw Proverbs 6:17 רָ֭מוֹת haughty rā·mō·wṯ עֵינַ֣יִם eyes , ‘ê·na·yim שָׁ֑קֶר a lying šā·qer לְשׁ֣וֹן tongue , lə·šō·wn וְ֝יָדַ֗יִם hands wə·yā·ḏa·yim שֹׁפְכ֥וֹת that shed šō·p̄ə·ḵō·wṯ נָקִֽי׃ innocent nā·qî דָּם־ blood , dām- Proverbs 6:18 לֵ֗ב a heart lêḇ חֹ֭רֵשׁ that devises ḥō·rêš אָ֑וֶן wicked ’ā·wen מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת schemes , maḥ·šə·ḇō·wṯ רַגְלַ֥יִם feet raḡ·la·yim לָר֥וּץ that run lā·rūṣ מְ֝מַהֲר֗וֹת swiftly mə·ma·hă·rō·wṯ לָֽרָעָה׃ to evil , lå̄·rå̄·ʿå̄h Proverbs 6:19 שָׁ֑קֶר a false šā·qer עֵ֣ד witness ‘êḏ כְּ֭זָבִים who gives false kə·zā·ḇîm יָפִ֣יחַ testimony , yā·p̄î·aḥ וּמְשַׁלֵּ֥חַ and one who stirs up ū·mə·šal·lê·aḥ מְ֝דָנִ֗ים discord mə·ḏā·nîm בֵּ֣ין among bên אַחִֽים׃פ brothers . ’a·ḥîm Proverbs 6:20 בְּ֭נִי My son , bə·nî נְצֹ֣ר keep nə·ṣōr אָבִ֑יךָ your father’s ’ā·ḇî·ḵā מִצְוַ֣ת commandment , miṣ·waṯ וְאַל־ and do not wə·’al- תִּ֝טֹּ֗שׁ forsake tiṭ·ṭōš אִמֶּֽךָ׃ your mother’s ’im·me·ḵā תּוֹרַ֥ת teaching . tō·w·raṯ Proverbs 6:21 קָשְׁרֵ֣ם Bind them qā·šə·rêm תָמִ֑יד always ṯā·mîḏ עַל־ upon ‘al- לִבְּךָ֣ your heart ; lib·bə·ḵā עָ֝נְדֵ֗ם tie them ‘ā·nə·ḏêm עַל־ around ‘al- גַּרְגְּרֹתֶֽךָ׃ your neck . gar·gə·rō·ṯe·ḵā Proverbs 6:22 בְּהִתְהַלֶּכְךָ֨׀ When you walk , bə·hiṯ·hal·leḵ·ḵā תַּנְחֶ֬ה they will guide you ; tan·ḥeh אֹתָ֗ךְ when you ’ō·ṯāḵ בְּֽ֭שָׁכְבְּךָ lie down , bə·šā·ḵə·bə·ḵā תִּשְׁמֹ֣ר they will watch tiš·mōr עָלֶ֑יךָ over you ; ‘ā·le·ḵā וַ֝הֲקִיצ֗וֹתָ when you awake , wa·hă·qî·ṣō·w·ṯā הִ֣יא they hî תְשִׂיחֶֽךָ׃ will speak to you . ṯə·śî·ḥe·ḵā Proverbs 6:23 כִּ֤י For kî מִ֭צְוָה this commandment miṣ·wāh נֵ֣ר is a lamp , nêr וְת֣וֹרָה this teaching wə·ṯō·w·rāh א֑וֹר [is] a light , ’ō·wr תּוֹכְח֥וֹת and the reproofs tō·wḵ·ḥō·wṯ מוּסָֽר׃ of discipline mū·sār וְדֶ֥רֶךְ are the way wə·ḏe·reḵ חַ֝יִּ֗ים to life , ḥay·yîm Proverbs 6:24 לִ֭שְׁמָרְךָ to keep you liš·mā·rə·ḵā
