2 Chronicles 10:12 הַשְּׁלִשִׁ֑י After three haš·šə·li·šî בַּיּ֣וֹם days , bay·yō·wm יָרָבְעָ֧ם Jeroboam yā·rā·ḇə·‘ām וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl הָעָ֛ם the people hā·‘ām וַיָּבֹ֨א returned way·yā·ḇō אֶל־ to ’el- רְחַבְעָ֖ם Rehoboam , rə·ḥaḇ·‘ām כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר since ka·’ă·šer הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ the king ham·me·leḵ דִּבֶּ֤ר . . . dib·ber לֵאמֹ֔ר had said , lê·mōr שׁ֥וּבוּ “ Come back šū·ḇū אֵלַ֖י to me ’ê·lay הַשְּׁלִשִֽׁי׃ on the third haš·šə·li·šî בַּיּ֥וֹם day .” bay·yō·wm 2 Chronicles 10:13 הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ And the king ham·me·leḵ וַיַּעֲנֵ֥ם answered them way·ya·‘ă·nêm קָשָׁ֑ה harshly . qā·šāh הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ King ham·me·leḵ רְחַבְעָ֔ם Rehoboam rə·ḥaḇ·‘ām אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ וַֽיַּעֲזֹב֙ rejected way·ya·‘ă·zōḇ עֲצַ֥ת the advice ‘ă·ṣaṯ הַזְּקֵנִֽים׃ of the elders haz·zə·qê·nîm 2 Chronicles 10:14 וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר and spoke way·ḏab·bêr אֲלֵהֶ֗ם to them ’ă·lê·hem הַיְלָדִים֙ as the young men hay·lā·ḏîm כַּעֲצַ֤ת had advised , ka·‘ă·ṣaṯ לֵאמֹ֔ר saying , lê·mōr עֻלְּכֶ֔ם “ Whereas [my father] made your yoke ‘ul·lə·ḵem אַכְבִּיד֙ heavy , ’aḵ·bîḏ אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- וַאֲנִ֖י I wa·’ă·nî אֹסִ֣יף will add ’ō·sîp̄ עָלָ֑יו to [your yoke] . ‘ā·lāw אָבִ֗י Whereas my father ’ā·ḇî יִסַּ֤ר scourged yis·sar אֶתְכֶם֙ you ’eṯ·ḵem בַּשּׁוֹטִ֔ים with whips , baš·šō·w·ṭîm וַאֲנִ֖י I [will scourge you] wa·’ă·nî בָּעֲקְרַבִּֽים׃ with scorpions . ” bā·‘ăq·rab·bîm 2 Chronicles 10:15 הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ So the king ham·me·leḵ וְלֹֽא־ did not wə·lō- שָׁמַ֥ע listen šā·ma‘ אֶל־ to ’el- הָעָ֑ם the people , hā·‘ām כִּֽי־ and indeed kî- נְסִבָּה֙ this turn of events nə·sib·bāh הָיְתָ֤ה was hā·yə·ṯāh מֵעִ֣ם from mê·‘im הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm לְמַעַן֩ in order that lə·ma·‘an יְהוָ֜ה YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָקִ֨ים might fulfill hā·qîm דְּבָר֗וֹ the word də·ḇā·rōw אֲשֶׁ֤ר that ’ă·šer דִּבֶּר֙ He had spoken dib·ber בְּיַד֙ through bə·yaḏ אֲחִיָּ֣הוּ Ahijah ’ă·ḥî·yā·hū הַשִּֽׁלוֹנִ֔י the Shilonite haš·ši·lō·w·nî אֶל־ to ’el- יָרָבְעָ֖ם Jeroboam yā·rā·ḇə·‘ām בֶּן־ son ben- נְבָֽט׃ of Nebat . nə·ḇāṭ 2 Chronicles 10:16 וְכָל־ When all wə·ḵāl יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל Israel [saw] yiś·rā·’êl כִּ֠י that kî הַמֶּלֶךְ֮ the king ham·me·leḵ לָהֶם֒ - lā·hem לֹא־ had refused lō- שָׁמַ֣ע to listen šā·ma‘ הָעָ֣ם to them , hā·‘ām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיָּשִׁ֣יבוּ they answered way·yā·šî·ḇū הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ׀ the king ham·me·leḵ לֵאמֹ֡ר . . . : lê·mōr מַה־ “ What mah- חֵ֨לֶק portion ḥê·leq לָּנוּ֩ do we have lā·nū בְּדָוִ֜יד in David , bə·ḏā·wîḏ וְלֹֽא־ and what wə·lō- נַחֲלָ֣ה inheritance na·ḥă·lāh בְּבֶן־ in the son bə·ḇen- יִשַׁ֗י of Jesse ? yi·šay
