לְבָבִ֡י my heart lə·ḇā·ḇî לִבְנוֹת֩ to build liḇ·nō·wṯ בֵּ֨ית a house bêṯ מְנוּחָ֜ה as a resting place mə·nū·ḥāh לַאֲר֣וֹן for the ark la·’ă·rō·wn בְּרִית־ of the covenant bə·rîṯ- יְהוָ֗ה of YHWH Yah·weh וְלַהֲדֹם֙ and as a footstool wə·la·hă·ḏōm רַגְלֵ֣י . . . raḡ·lê אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ for our God . ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū וַהֲכִינ֖וֹתִי I had made preparations wa·hă·ḵî·nō·w·ṯî לִבְנֽוֹת׃ to build it , liḇ·nō·wṯ 1 Chronicles 28:3 וְהָאֱלֹהִים֙ but God wə·hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm אָ֣מַר said ’ā·mar לִ֔י to me , lî לֹא־ ‘ You are not lō- תִבְנֶ֥ה to build ṯiḇ·neh בַ֖יִת a house ḇa·yiṯ לִשְׁמִ֑י for My Name , liš·mî כִּ֣י because kî אַ֖תָּה you ’at·tāh אִ֧ישׁ are a man ’îš מִלְחָמ֛וֹת of war mil·ḥā·mō·wṯ שָׁפָֽכְתָּ׃ who has spilled šā·p̄ā·ḵə·tā וְדָמִ֥ים blood . ’ wə·ḏā·mîm 1 Chronicles 28:4 יְהוָ֣ה Yet YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵי֩ the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl וַיִּבְחַ֡ר chose way·yiḇ·ḥar בִּ֜י me bî מִכֹּ֣ל out of all mik·kōl אָבִ֗י my father’s ’ā·ḇî בֵּית־ house bêṯ- לִהְי֨וֹת to be lih·yō·wṯ לְמֶ֤לֶךְ king lə·me·leḵ עַל־ over ‘al- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ Israel yiś·rā·’êl לְעוֹלָ֔ם forever . lə·‘ō·w·lām כִּ֤י For kî בָּחַ֣ר He chose bā·ḥar בִֽיהוּדָה֙ Judah ḇî·hū·ḏāh לְנָגִ֔יד as leader , lə·nā·ḡîḏ וּבְבֵ֥ית and from the house ū·ḇə·ḇêṯ יְהוּדָ֖ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh אָבִ֑י [He chose] my father’s ’ā·ḇî בֵּ֣ית household , bêṯ אָבִ֔י and from my father’s ’ā·ḇî בִּ֣י . . . bî וּבִבְנֵ֣י sons ū·ḇiḇ·nê רָצָ֔ה He was pleased rā·ṣāh לְהַמְלִ֖יךְ to make me king lə·ham·lîḵ עַל־ over ‘al- כָּל־ all kāl- יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 1 Chronicles 28:5 וּמִכָּ֨ל־ And of all ū·mik·kāl- בָּנַ֔י my sons — bā·nay כִּ֚י for kî יְהוָ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh נָ֥תַן has given nā·ṯan לִ֖י me lî רַבִּ֣ים many rab·bîm בָּנִ֔ים sons — bā·nîm וַיִּבְחַר֙ He has chosen way·yiḇ·ḥar בִּשְׁלֹמֹ֣ה Solomon biš·lō·mōh בְנִ֔י my son ḇə·nî לָשֶׁ֗בֶת to sit lā·še·ḇeṯ עַל־ on ‘al- כִּסֵּ֛א the throne kis·sê מַלְכ֥וּת of the kingdom mal·ḵūṯ יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh עַל־ over ‘al- יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 1 Chronicles 28:6 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר And He said way·yō·mer לִ֔י to me , lî שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה ‘ Solomon šə·lō·mōh בִנְךָ֔ your son ḇin·ḵā הֽוּא־ is the one hū- יִבְנֶ֥ה who will build yiḇ·neh בֵיתִ֖י My house ḇê·ṯî וַחֲצֵרוֹתָ֑י and My courts , wa·ḥă·ṣê·rō·w·ṯāy כִּי־ for kî- בָחַ֨רְתִּי I have chosen him ḇā·ḥar·tî ב֥וֹ [as] ḇōw לִי֙ My lî לְבֵ֔ן son , lə·ḇên וַאֲנִ֖י and I wa·’ă·nî אֶֽהְיֶה־ will be ’eh·yeh- לּ֥וֹ his lōw
