נִשְׁקְפָ֣ה׀ looked down niš·qə·p̄āh בְּעַ֣ד from bə·‘aḏ הַחַלּ֗וֹן a window ha·ḥal·lō·wn וַתֵּ֨רֶא and saw wat·tê·re אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ King ham·me·leḵ דָּוִיד֙ David dā·wîḏ מְרַקֵּ֣ד dancing mə·raq·qêḏ וּמְשַׂחֵ֔ק and celebrating , ū·mə·śa·ḥêq וַתִּ֥בֶז and she despised wat·ti·ḇez ל֖וֹ him lōw בְּלִבָּֽהּ׃פ in her heart . bə·lib·bāh 1 Chronicles 16:1 וַיָּבִ֙יאוּ֙ So they brought way·yā·ḇî·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲר֣וֹן the ark ’ă·rō·wn הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים of God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיַּצִּ֣יגוּ and placed way·yaṣ·ṣî·ḡū אֹת֔וֹ - ’ō·ṯōw בְּת֣וֹךְ it inside bə·ṯō·wḵ הָאֹ֔הֶל the tent hā·’ō·hel אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer דָּוִ֑יד David dā·wîḏ נָֽטָה־ had pitched nā·ṭāh- ל֖וֹ for it . lōw וַיַּקְרִ֛יבוּ And they presented way·yaq·rî·ḇū עֹל֥וֹת burnt offerings ‘ō·lō·wṯ וּשְׁלָמִ֖ים and peace offerings ū·šə·lā·mîm לִפְנֵ֥י before lip̄·nê הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ God . hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm 1 Chronicles 16:2 דָּוִ֔יד When David dā·wîḏ וַיְכַ֣ל had finished way·ḵal מֵהַעֲל֥וֹת sacrificing mê·ha·‘ă·lō·wṯ הָעֹלָ֖ה the burnt offerings hā·‘ō·lāh וְהַשְּׁלָמִ֑ים and peace offerings , wə·haš·šə·lā·mîm וַיְבָ֥רֶךְ he blessed way·ḇā·reḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעָ֖ם the people hā·‘ām בְּשֵׁ֥ם in the name bə·šêm יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH . Yah·weh 1 Chronicles 16:3 וַיְחַלֵּק֙ Then he distributed way·ḥal·lêq לְכָל־ to every lə·ḵāl אִ֣ישׁ . . . ’îš מֵאִ֖ישׁ man mê·’îš וְעַד־ and wə·‘aḏ- אִשָּׁ֑ה woman ’iš·šāh לְאִישׁ֙ . . . lə·’îš יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl כִּכַּר־ a loaf kik·kar- לֶ֔חֶם of bread , le·ḥem וְאֶשְׁפָּ֖ר a date cake , wə·’eš·pār וַאֲשִׁישָֽׁה׃ and a raisin cake . wa·’ă·šî·šāh 1 Chronicles 16:4 וַיִּתֵּ֞ן David appointed way·yit·tên מִן־ some of min- הַלְוִיִּ֖ם the Levites hal·wî·yim מְשָׁרְתִ֑ים to minister mə·šā·rə·ṯîm לִפְנֵ֨י before lip̄·nê אֲר֧וֹן the ark ’ă·rō·wn יְהוָ֛ה of YHWH , Yah·weh וּלְהַזְכִּיר֙ to celebrate , ū·lə·haz·kîr וּלְהוֹד֣וֹת to give thanks , ū·lə·hō·w·ḏō·wṯ וּלְהַלֵּ֔ל and to praise ū·lə·hal·lêl לַיהוָ֖ה YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֥י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃פ of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 1 Chronicles 16:5 אָסָ֥ף Asaph ’ā·sāp̄ הָרֹ֖אשׁ was the chief , hā·rōš זְכַרְיָ֑ה Zechariah zə·ḵar·yāh וּמִשְׁנֵ֣הוּ was second , ū·miš·nê·hū יְעִיאֵ֡ל [then] Jeiel , yə·‘î·’êl וּשְׁמִֽירָמ֡וֹת Shemiramoth , ū·šə·mî·rā·mō·wṯ וִֽיחִיאֵ֡ל Jehiel , wî·ḥî·’êl וּמַתִּתְיָ֡ה Mattithiah , ū·mat·tiṯ·yāh וֶאֱלִיאָ֡ב Eliab , we·’ĕ·lî·’āḇ וּבְנָיָהוּ֩ Benaiah , ū·ḇə·nā·yā·hū וְעֹבֵ֨ד vvv wə·‘ō·ḇêḏ אֱדֹ֜ם Obed-edom , ’ĕ·ḏōm וִֽיעִיאֵ֗ל and Jeiel . wî·‘î·’êl בִּכְלֵ֤י . . . biḵ·lê נְבָלִים֙ They were to play the harps nə·ḇā·lîm וּבְכִנֹּר֔וֹת and lyres , ū·ḇə·ḵin·nō·rō·wṯ וְאָסָ֖ף while Asaph wə·’ā·sāp̄ מַשְׁמִֽיעַ׃ sounded maš·mî·a‘ בַּֽמְצִלְתַּ֥יִם the cymbals bam·ṣil·ta·yim
