1 Chronicles 12:14 אֵ֥לֶּה These ’êl·leh מִבְּנֵי־ Gadites mib·bə·nê- גָ֖ד . . . ḡāḏ הַצָּבָ֑א were army haṣ·ṣā·ḇā אֶחָ֤ד ’e·ḥāḏ רָאשֵׁ֣י commanders , rā·šê הַקָּטָ֔ן the least [of whom] haq·qā·ṭān לְמֵאָה֙ was a match for a hundred , lə·mê·’āh וְהַגָּד֖וֹל and the greatest wə·hag·gā·ḏō·wl לְאָֽלֶף׃ for a thousand . lə·’ā·lep̄ 1 Chronicles 12:15 אֵ֣לֶּה These ’êl·leh הֵ֗ם are hêm אֲשֶׁ֨ר the ones who ’ă·šer עָבְר֤וּ crossed ‘ā·ḇə·rū אֶת־ ’eṯ- הַיַּרְדֵּן֙ the Jordan hay·yar·dên הָרִאשׁ֔וֹן in the first hā·ri·šō·wn וְה֥וּא wə·hū בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ month ba·ḥō·ḏeš מְמַלֵּ֖א when it was overflowing mə·mal·lê עַל־ . . . ‘al- כָּל־ all kāl- גִּדיֹתָיו its banks , gi·ḏ·yō·ṯå̄w וַיַּבְרִ֙יחוּ֙ and they put to flight way·yaḇ·rî·ḥū אֶת־ ’eṯ- כָּל־ all [those] kāl- הָ֣עֲמָקִ֔ים in the valleys , hā·‘ă·mā·qîm לַמִּזְרָ֖ח [both] to the east lam·miz·rāḥ וְלַֽמַּעֲרָֽב׃ס and to the west . wə·lam·ma·‘ă·rāḇ 1 Chronicles 12:16 בְּנֵ֤י Other Benjamites bə·nê בִנְיָמִן֙ . . . ḇin·yā·min וִֽיהוּדָ֔ה and some men from Judah wî·hū·ḏāh עַד־ ‘aḏ- וַיָּבֹ֗אוּ also came way·yā·ḇō·’ū מִן־ . . . min- לְדָוִֽיד׃ to David lə·ḏā·wîḏ לַמְצָ֖ד in his stronghold . lam·ṣāḏ 1 Chronicles 12:17 וַיֵּצֵ֣א And David way·yê·ṣê דָוִיד֮ went out ḏā·wîḏ לִפְנֵיהֶם֒ to meet them , lip̄·nê·hem וַיַּ֙עַן֙ . . . way·ya·‘an וַיֹּ֣אמֶר saying way·yō·mer לָהֶ֔ם - , lā·hem אִם־ “ If ’im- בָּאתֶ֤ם you have come bā·ṯem אֵלַי֙ to me ’ê·lay לְשָׁל֞וֹם in peace lə·šā·lō·wm לְעָזְרֵ֔נִי to help me , lə·‘ā·zə·rê·nî לִּ֧י my lî לֵבָ֖ב heart lê·ḇāḇ יִֽהְיֶה־ will be yih·yeh- לְיָ֑חַד united lə·yā·ḥaḏ עֲלֵיכֶ֛ם with you ; ‘ă·lê·ḵem וְאִֽם־ but if wə·’im- לְרַמּוֹתַ֣נִי you have come to betray me lə·ram·mō·w·ṯa·nî לְצָרַ֗י to my enemies lə·ṣā·ray בְּכַפַּ֔י when my hands bə·ḵap·pay בְּלֹ֤א are free bə·lō חָמָס֙ of violence , ḥā·mās אֱלֹהֵ֥י may the God ’ĕ·lō·hê אֲבוֹתֵ֖ינוּ of our fathers ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·nū יֵ֛רֶא see [it] yê·re וְיוֹכַֽח׃ס and judge you . ” wə·yō·w·ḵaḥ 1 Chronicles 12:18 וְר֣וּחַ Then the Spirit wə·rū·aḥ לָבְשָׁ֗ה came upon lā·ḇə·šāh אֶת־ ’eṯ- עֲמָשַׂי֮ Amasai , ‘ă·mā·śay רֹ֣אשׁ the chief rōš הַשְּׁלוֹשִׁים of the Thirty, and he said : haš·šə·lō·šīm לְךָ֤ “ We are yours , lə·ḵā דָוִיד֙ O David ! ḏā·wîḏ וְעִמְּךָ֣ We are with you , wə·‘im·mə·ḵā בֶן־ O son ḇen- יִשַׁ֔י of Jesse ! yi·šay שָׁל֨וֹם׀ Peace , šā·lō·wm שָׁל֜וֹם peace šā·lō·wm לְךָ֗ to you , lə·ḵā וְשָׁלוֹם֙ and peace wə·šā·lō·wm לְעֹ֣זְרֶ֔ךָ to your helpers , lə·‘ō·zə·re·ḵā כִּ֥י for kî אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā עֲזָרְךָ֖ helps you . ” ‘ă·zā·rə·ḵā דָּוִ֔יד So David dā·wîḏ וַיְקַבְּלֵ֣ם received them way·qab·bə·lêm וַֽיִּתְּנֵ֖ם and made them way·yit·tə·nêm בְּרָאשֵׁ֥י leaders bə·rā·šê הַגְּדֽוּד׃פ of his troops . hag·gə·ḏūḏ
