אֲ֠נָשִׁים men ’ă·nā·šîm נֹשְׂאֵ֨י who carried nō·śə·’ê מָגֵ֤ן the shield mā·ḡên וְחֶ֙רֶב֙ and sword , wə·ḥe·reḇ וְדֹ֣רְכֵי drew wə·ḏō·rə·ḵê קֶ֔שֶׁת the bow , qe·šeṯ וּלְמוּדֵ֖י and were trained ū·lə·mū·ḏê מִלְחָמָ֑ה for battle . mil·ḥā·māh 1 Chronicles 5:19 וַיַּעֲשׂ֥וּ They waged way·ya·‘ă·śū מִלְחָמָ֖ה war mil·ḥā·māh עִם־ against ‘im- הַֽהַגְרִיאִ֑ים the Hagrites , ha·haḡ·rî·’îm וִיט֥וּר as well as Jetur , wî·ṭūr וְנָפִ֖ישׁ Naphish , wə·nā·p̄îš וְנוֹדָֽב׃ and Nodab . wə·nō·w·ḏāḇ 1 Chronicles 5:20 כִּ֠י And because kî זָעֲקוּ֙ they cried out zā·‘ă·qū לֵאלֹהִ֤ים to God lê·lō·hîm בַּמִּלְחָמָ֔ה in battle , bam·mil·ḥā·māh וַיֵּעָזְר֣וּ they were helped way·yê·‘ā·zə·rū עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם against [their enemies] , ‘ă·lê·hem הַֽהַגְרִיאִ֔ים and the Hagrites ha·haḡ·rî·’îm וְכֹ֖ל and all wə·ḵōl שֶׁ֣עִמָּהֶ֑ם their allies še·‘im·mā·hem וַיִּנָּתְנ֤וּ were delivered way·yin·nā·ṯə·nū בְיָדָם֙ into their hands . ḇə·yā·ḏām כִּי־ Because kî- בָ֥טְחוּ they put their trust ḇā·ṭə·ḥū בֽוֹ׃ in [God] , ḇōw וְנַעְתּ֥וֹר He answered their prayers wə·na‘·tō·wr לָהֶ֖ם . lā·hem 1 Chronicles 5:21 וַיִּשְׁבּ֣וּ They seized way·yiš·bū מִקְנֵיהֶ֗ם the livestock [of the Hagrites] — miq·nê·hem חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים 50,000 {} ḥă·miš·šîm אֶ֙לֶף֙ . . . ’e·lep̄ גְּֽמַלֵּיהֶ֞ם camels , gə·mal·lê·hem מָאתַ֤יִם 250,000 {} mā·ṯa·yim וַחֲמִשִּׁים֙ . . . wa·ḥă·miš·šîm אֶ֔לֶף . . . ’e·lep̄ וְצֹ֗אן sheep , wə·ṣōn אַלְפָּ֑יִם and 2,000 ’al·pā·yim וְנֶ֥פֶשׁ . . . wə·ne·p̄eš וַחֲמוֹרִ֖ים donkeys . wa·ḥă·mō·w·rîm מֵ֥אָה [They also took] 100,000 mê·’āh אָֽלֶף׃ . . . ’ā·lep̄ אָדָ֖ם captives , ’ā·ḏām 1 Chronicles 5:22 כִּֽי־ and kî- רַבִּים֙ many others rab·bîm נָפָ֔לוּ fell nā·p̄ā·lū חֲלָלִ֤ים slain , ḥă·lā·lîm כִּ֥י because kî הַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה the battle ham·mil·ḥā·māh מֵהָאֱלֹהִ֖ים belonged to God . mê·hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיֵּשְׁב֥וּ And they occupied way·yê·šə·ḇū תַחְתֵּיהֶ֖ם the land ṯaḥ·tê·hem עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הַגֹּלָֽה׃פ the exile . hag·gō·lāh 1 Chronicles 5:23 וּבְנֵ֗י Now the people ū·ḇə·nê חֲצִי֙ of the half-tribe ḥă·ṣî שֵׁ֣בֶט . . . šê·ḇeṭ מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה of Manasseh mə·naš·šeh הֵ֥מָּה vvv hêm·māh רָבֽוּ׃ were numerous . rā·ḇū יָשְׁב֖וּ They settled yā·šə·ḇū בָּאָ֑רֶץ in the land bā·’ā·reṣ מִבָּשָׁ֞ן from Bashan mib·bā·šān עַד־ to ‘aḏ- בַּ֧עַל vvv ba·‘al חֶרְמ֛וֹן Baal-hermon (that is , ḥer·mō·wn וּשְׂנִ֥יר Senir , ū·śə·nîr וְהַר־ [also known as] Mount wə·har- חֶרְמ֖וֹן Hermon ). ḥer·mō·wn 1 Chronicles 5:24 וְאֵ֖לֶּה These wə·’êl·leh רָאשֵׁ֣י were the heads rā·šê אֲבוֹתָ֑ם of their families ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯām בֵית־ . . . : ḇêṯ- וְעֵ֡פֶר Epher , wə·‘ê·p̄er וְיִשְׁעִ֡י Ishi , wə·yiš·‘î וֶאֱלִיאֵ֡ל Eliel , we·’ĕ·lî·’êl וְ֠עַזְרִיאֵל Azriel , wə·‘az·rî·’êl וְיִרְמְיָ֨ה Jeremiah , wə·yir·mə·yāh וְהוֹדַוְיָ֜ה Hodaviah , wə·hō·w·ḏaw·yāh
