חַי־ lives — ḥay- אֲשֶׁ֣ר the One ’ă·šer הֱכִינַ֗נִי who established me , hĕ·ḵî·na·nî וַיּוֹשִׁיבִינִי who set me way·yō·šī·ḇī·nī עַל־ on ‘al- כִּסֵּא֙ the throne kis·sê אָבִ֔י of my father ’ā·ḇî דָּוִ֣ד David , dā·wiḏ עָֽשָׂה־ and who founded ‘ā·śāh- לִ֛י for me lî בַּ֖יִת a dynasty ba·yiṯ כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר - ka·’ă·šer וַאֲשֶׁ֧ר as wa·’ă·šer דִּבֵּ֑ר He promised — dib·bêr כִּ֣י surely kî אֲדֹנִיָּֽהוּ׃ Adonijah ’ă·ḏō·nî·yā·hū יוּמַ֖ת shall be put to death yū·maṯ הַיּ֔וֹם today ! ” hay·yō·wm 1 Kings 2:25 הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ So King ham·me·leḵ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה Solomon šə·lō·mōh וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ sent the order way·yiš·laḥ בְּיַ֖ד to bə·yaḏ בְּנָיָ֣הוּ Benaiah bə·nā·yā·hū בֶן־ son ḇen- יְהוֹיָדָ֑ע of Jehoiada , yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘ וַיִּפְגַּע־ who struck down way·yip̄·ga‘- בּ֖וֹ Adonijah , bōw וַיָּמֹֽת׃ס and he died . way·yā·mōṯ 1 Kings 2:26 הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ Then the king ham·me·leḵ אָמַ֣ר said ’ā·mar וּלְאֶבְיָתָ֨ר to Abiathar ū·lə·’eḇ·yā·ṯār הַכֹּהֵ֜ן the priest , hak·kō·hên לֵ֣ךְ “ Go back lêḵ עַל־ to ‘al- שָׂדֶ֔יךָ your fields śā·ḏe·ḵā עֲנָתֹת֙ in Anathoth . ‘ă·nā·ṯōṯ כִּ֛י Even though kî אִ֥ישׁ . . . ’îš אָ֑תָּה you ’āt·tāh מָ֖וֶת deserve to die , mā·weṯ לֹ֣א I will not lō אֲמִיתֶ֗ךָ put you to death ’ă·mî·ṯe·ḵā הַזֶּ֜ה at this haz·zeh וּבַיּ֨וֹם time , ū·ḇay·yō·wm כִּֽי־ since kî- נָשָׂ֜אתָ you carried nā·śā·ṯā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲר֨וֹן the ark ’ă·rō·wn אֲדֹנָ֤י of the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהֹוִה֙ YHWH Yah·weh לִפְנֵי֙ before lip̄·nê אָבִ֔י my father ’ā·ḇî וְכִ֣י . . . wə·ḵî דָּוִ֣ד David , dā·wiḏ הִתְעַנִּ֔יתָ and you suffered hiṯ·‘an·nî·ṯā בְּכֹ֥ל through all bə·ḵōl אֲשֶֽׁר־ that ’ă·šer- אָבִֽי׃ my father ’ā·ḇî הִתְעַנָּ֖ה suffered . ” hiṯ·‘an·nāh 1 Kings 2:27 שְׁלֹמֹה֙ So Solomon šə·lō·mōh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיְגָ֤רֶשׁ banished way·ḡā·reš אֶבְיָתָ֔ר Abiathar ’eḇ·yā·ṯār מִהְי֥וֹת from mih·yō·wṯ כֹּהֵ֖ן the priesthood kō·hên לַֽיהוָ֑ה of YHWH Yah·weh לְמַלֵּא֙ and thus fulfilled lə·mal·lê אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דְּבַ֣ר the word də·ḇar אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh דִּבֶּ֛ר had spoken dib·ber בְּשִׁלֹֽה׃פ at Shiloh bə·ši·lōh עַל־ against ‘al- בֵּ֥ית the house bêṯ עֵלִ֖י of Eli . ‘ê·lî 1 Kings 2:28 וְהַשְּׁמֻעָה֙ When the news wə·haš·šə·mu·‘āh בָּ֣אָה reached bā·’āh עַד־ . . . ‘aḏ- יוֹאָ֔ב Joab , yō·w·’āḇ כִּ֣י - kî יוֹאָ֗ב [who] yō·w·’āḇ נָטָה֙ had conspired nā·ṭāh אַחֲרֵ֣י with ’a·ḥă·rê אֲדֹנִיָּ֔ה Adonijah ’ă·ḏō·nî·yāh וְאַחֲרֵ֥י but wə·’a·ḥă·rê לֹ֣א not lō נָטָ֑ה with nā·ṭāh
