יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl לֵאמֹ֑ר with this message : lê·mōr כְּשָׁמְעֲכֶם֙ “ When you hear kə·šā·mə·‘ă·ḵem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- ק֣וֹל the sound qō·wl הַשֹּׁפָ֔ר of the horn , haš·šō·p̄ār וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם you are to say , wa·’ă·mar·tem אַבְשָׁל֖וֹם ‘ Absalom ’aḇ·šā·lō·wm מָלַ֥ךְ reigns mā·laḵ בְּחֶבְרֽוֹן׃ in Hebron ! ’” bə·ḥeḇ·rō·wn 2 Samuel 15:11 מָאתַ֤יִם Two hundred mā·ṯa·yim אִישׁ֙ men ’îš מִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם from Jerusalem mî·rū·šā·lim הָלְכ֞וּ accompanied hā·lə·ḵū וְאֶת־ . . . wə·’eṯ- אַבְשָׁל֗וֹם Absalom . ’aḇ·šā·lō·wm קְרֻאִ֖ים They had been invited as guests qə·ru·’îm וְהֹלְכִ֣ים and they went along wə·hō·lə·ḵîm לְתֻמָּ֑ם innocently , lə·ṯum·mām יָדְע֖וּ for they knew yā·ḏə·‘ū וְלֹ֥א nothing wə·lō כָּל־ about kāl- דָּבָֽר׃ the matter . dā·ḇār 2 Samuel 15:12 בְּזָבְח֖וֹ While [Absalom] was offering bə·zā·ḇə·ḥōw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזְּבָחִ֑ים the sacrifices , haz·zə·ḇā·ḥîm אַ֠בְשָׁלוֹם [he] ’aḇ·šā·lō·wm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח sent for way·yiš·laḥ אֲחִיתֹ֨פֶל Ahithophel ’ă·ḥî·ṯō·p̄el הַגִּֽילֹנִ֜י the Gilonite , hag·gî·lō·nî דָּוִ֗ד David’s dā·wiḏ יוֹעֵ֣ץ counselor , yō·w·‘êṣ מֵֽעִירוֹ֙ [to come] from his hometown mê·‘î·rōw מִגִּלֹ֔ה of Giloh . mig·gi·lōh הַקֶּ֙שֶׁר֙ So the conspiracy haq·qe·šer וַיְהִ֤י gained way·hî אַמִּ֔ץ strength , ’am·miṣ אַבְשָׁלֽוֹם׃ and Absalom’s ’aḇ·šā·lō·wm וְהָעָ֛ם following wə·hā·‘ām הוֹלֵ֥ךְ kept hō·w·lêḵ וָרָ֖ב increasing wā·rāḇ אֶת־ . . . . ’eṯ- 2 Samuel 15:13 הַמַּגִּ֔יד Then a messenger ham·mag·gîḏ וַיָּבֹא֙ came way·yā·ḇō אֶל־ to ’el- דָּוִ֖ד David dā·wiḏ לֵאמֹ֑ר and reported , lê·mōr לֶב־ “ The hearts leḇ- אִ֥ישׁ of the men ’îš יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl הָיָ֛ה are hā·yāh אַחֲרֵ֥י with ’a·ḥă·rê אַבְשָׁלֽוֹם׃ Absalom . ” ’aḇ·šā·lō·wm 2 Samuel 15:14 דָּ֠וִד And David dā·wiḏ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said way·yō·mer לְכָל־ to all lə·ḵāl עֲבָדָ֨יו the servants ‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- אִתּ֤וֹ with him ’it·tōw בִירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ in Jerusalem , ḇî·rū·šā·lim ק֣וּמוּ “ Arise qū·mū וְנִבְרָ֔חָה and let us flee , wə·niḇ·rā·ḥāh כִּ֛י or kî לָּ֥נוּ we lā·nū תִֽהְיֶה־ will ṯih·yeh- לֹא־ not lō- פְלֵיטָ֖ה escape p̄ə·lê·ṭāh מִפְּנֵ֣י from mip·pə·nê אַבְשָׁל֑וֹם Absalom ! ’aḇ·šā·lō·wm לָלֶ֗כֶת We must leave lā·le·ḵeṯ מַהֲר֣וּ quickly , ma·hă·rū פֶּן־ or pen- יְמַהֵ֤ר he will soon yə·ma·hêr וְהִשִּׂגָ֙נוּ֙ overtake us , wə·hiś·śi·ḡā·nū וְהִדִּ֤יחַ heap wə·hid·dî·aḥ הָ֣רָעָ֔ה disaster hā·rā·‘āh עָלֵ֙ינוּ֙ on us , ‘ā·lê·nū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וְהִכָּ֥ה and put wə·hik·kāh הָעִ֖יר the city hā·‘îr לְפִי־ to lə·p̄î- חָֽרֶב׃ the sword . ” ḥā·reḇ 2 Samuel 15:15 הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ The king’s ham·me·leḵ עַבְדֵֽי־ servants ‘aḇ·ḏê-
