Judges 21:9 הָעָ֑ם For when the people hā·‘ām וְהִנֵּ֤ה . . . wə·hin·nêh וַיִּתְפָּקֵ֖ד were counted , way·yiṯ·pā·qêḏ אֵֽין־ none ’ên- אִ֔ישׁ . . . ’îš מִיּוֹשְׁבֵ֖י of the residents mî·yō·wō·šə·ḇê יָבֵ֥שׁ of Jabesh-gilead yā·ḇêš גִּלְעָֽד׃ . . . gil·‘āḏ שָׁם֙ were there . šām Judges 21:10 הָעֵדָ֗ה So the congregation hā·‘ê·ḏāh וַיִּשְׁלְחוּ־ sent way·yiš·lə·ḥū- שְׁנֵים־ 12,000 {} šə·nêm- עָשָׂ֥ר . . . ‘ā·śār אֶ֛לֶף . . . ’e·lep̄ מִבְּנֵ֣י of mib·bə·nê הֶחָ֑יִל their most valiant he·ḥā·yil אִ֖ישׁ men ’îš שָׁ֣ם - šām וַיְצַוּ֨וּ and commanded them way·ṣaw·wū אוֹתָ֜ם - ’ō·w·ṯām לֵאמֹ֗ר - : lê·mōr לְ֠כוּ “ Go lə·ḵū וְהִכִּיתֶ֞ם and put wə·hik·kî·ṯem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לְפִי־ vvv lə·p̄î- חֶ֔רֶב to the sword ḥe·reḇ יוֹשְׁבֵ֨י those living yō·wō·šə·ḇê יָבֵ֤שׁ in Jabesh-gilead yā·ḇêš גִּלְעָד֙ . . . , gil·‘āḏ וְהַנָּשִׁ֖ים including women wə·han·nā·šîm וְהַטָּֽף׃ and children . wə·haṭ·ṭāp̄ Judges 21:11 וְזֶ֥ה This wə·zeh הַדָּבָ֖ר . . . had·dā·ḇār אֲשֶׁ֣ר is what ’ă·šer תַּעֲשׂ֑וּ you are to do : ta·‘ă·śū תַּחֲרִֽימוּ׃ Devote to destruction ta·ḥă·rî·mū כָּל־ every kāl- זָכָ֗ר male , zā·ḵār וְכָל־ as well as every wə·ḵāl אִשָּׁ֛ה female ’iš·šāh יֹדַ֥עַת who has had relations with yō·ḏa·‘aṯ מִשְׁכַּב־ . . . miš·kaḇ- זָכָ֖ר a man . ” zā·ḵār Judges 21:12 וַֽיִּמְצְא֞וּ So they found way·yim·ṣə·’ū מִיּוֹשְׁבֵ֣י׀ among the inhabitants mî·yō·wō·šə·ḇê יָבֵ֣ישׁ of Jabesh-gilead yā·ḇêš גִּלְעָ֗ד . . . gil·‘āḏ אַרְבַּ֤ע four ’ar·ba‘ מֵאוֹת֙ hundred mê·’ō·wṯ נַעֲרָ֣ה young na·‘ă·rāh בְתוּלָ֔ה women ḇə·ṯū·lāh אֲשֶׁ֧ר who ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ had not lō- יָדְעָ֛ה had relations with yā·ḏə·‘āh אִ֖ישׁ . . . ’îš לְמִשְׁכַּ֣ב . . . lə·miš·kaḇ זָכָ֑ר a man , zā·ḵār וַיָּבִ֨יאוּ and they brought way·yā·ḇî·’ū אוֹתָ֤ם them ’ō·w·ṯām אֶל־ to ’el- הַֽמַּחֲנֶה֙ the camp ham·ma·ḥă·neh שִׁלֹ֔ה at Shiloh ši·lōh אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer בְּאֶ֥רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ כְּנָֽעַן׃ס of Canaan . kə·nā·‘an Judges 21:13 כָּל־ Then the whole kāl- הָ֣עֵדָ֔ה congregation hā·‘ê·ḏāh וַֽיִּשְׁלְחוּ֙ sent way·yiš·lə·ḥū וַֽיְדַבְּרוּ֙ a message way·ḏab·bə·rū וַיִּקְרְא֥וּ . . . way·yiq·rə·’ū לָהֶ֖ם - lā·hem שָׁלֽוֹם׃ of peace šā·lō·wm אֶל־ to ’el- בְּנֵ֣י the Benjamites bə·nê בִנְיָמִ֔ן . . . ḇin·yā·min אֲשֶׁ֖ר who ’ă·šer בְּסֶ֣לַע were at the rock bə·se·la‘ רִמּ֑וֹן of Rimmon . rim·mō·wn Judges 21:14 הַהִ֔יא And at that ha·hî בָּעֵ֣ת time bā·‘êṯ בִּנְיָמִן֙ the Benjamites bin·yā·min וַיָּ֤שָׁב returned way·yā·šāḇ וַיִּתְּנ֤וּ and were given way·yit·tə·nū לָהֶם֙ - lā·hem
