מַה־ “ What mah- לָּֽךְ׃ do you desire ? ” lāḵ Judges 1:15 הָֽבָה־ “ Give hā·ḇāh- לִּ֣י me lî בְרָכָ֗ה a blessing , ” ḇə·rā·ḵāh וַתֹּ֨אמֶר she answered wat·tō·mer ל֜וֹ . lōw כִּ֣י “ Since kî נְתַתָּ֔נִי you have given me nə·ṯat·tā·nî אֶ֤רֶץ land ’e·reṣ הַנֶּ֙גֶב֙ in the Negev , han·ne·ḡeḇ וְנָתַתָּ֥ה give wə·nā·ṯat·tāh לִ֖י me lî גֻּלֹּ֣ת springs gul·lōṯ מָ֑יִם of water [as well] . ” mā·yim כָּלֵ֗ב So Caleb kā·lêḇ אֵ֚ת - ’êṯ וַיִּתֶּן־ gave way·yit·ten- לָ֣הּ her lāh עִלִּ֔ית both the upper ‘il·lîṯ וְאֵ֖ת - wə·’êṯ גֻּלֹּ֥ת - gul·lōṯ תַּחְתִּֽית׃פ and lower taḥ·tîṯ גֻּלֹּ֣ת springs . gul·lōṯ Judges 1:16 וּבְנֵ֣י Now the descendants ū·ḇə·nê מֹשֶׁ֜ה of Moses’ mō·šeh חֹתֵ֨ן father-in-law , ḥō·ṯên קֵינִי֩ the Kenite , qê·nî עָל֨וּ went up ‘ā·lū אֶת־ with ’eṯ- בְּנֵ֣י the men bə·nê יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh מֵעִ֤יר from the City mê·‘îr הַתְּמָרִים֙ of Palms hat·tə·mā·rîm מִדְבַּ֣ר to the Wilderness miḏ·bar יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer בְּנֶ֣גֶב in the Negev bə·ne·ḡeḇ עֲרָ֑ד near Arad . ‘ă·rāḏ וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ They went way·yê·leḵ וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב to live way·yê·šeḇ אֶת־ among ’eṯ- הָעָֽם׃ the people . hā·‘ām Judges 1:17 יְהוּדָה֙ Then the men of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ went way·yê·leḵ אֶת־ with ’eṯ- אָחִ֔יו their brothers ’ā·ḥîw שִׁמְע֣וֹן the Simeonites , šim·‘ō·wn וַיַּכּ֕וּ attacked way·yak·kū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖י the Canaanites hak·kə·na·‘ă·nî יוֹשֵׁ֣ב living yō·wō·šêḇ צְפַ֑ת in Zephath , ṣə·p̄aṯ וַיַּחֲרִ֣ימוּ and devoted [the city] to destruction way·ya·ḥă·rî·mū אוֹתָ֔הּ - . ’ō·w·ṯāh וַיִּקְרָ֥א So [it] was called way·yiq·rā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שֵׁם־ - šêm- הָעִ֖יר . . . hā·‘îr חָרְמָֽה׃ Hormah . ḥā·rə·māh Judges 1:18 יְהוּדָה֙ And Judah yə·hū·ḏāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּלְכֹּ֤ד also captured way·yil·kōḏ עַזָּ֣ה Gaza ‘az·zāh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- גְּבוּלָ֔הּ - , gə·ḇū·lāh וְאֶֽת־ - wə·’eṯ- אַשְׁקְל֖וֹן Ashkelon ’aš·qə·lō·wn וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- גְּבוּלָ֑הּ - , gə·ḇū·lāh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- עֶקְר֖וֹן and Ekron — ‘eq·rō·wn וְאֶת־ each with wə·’eṯ- גְּבוּלָֽהּ׃ its territory . gə·ḇū·lāh Judges 1:19 יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh וַיְהִ֤י was way·hî אֶתּ־ with ’eṯ- יְהוּדָ֔ה Judah , yə·hū·ḏå̄h וַיֹּ֖רֶשׁ and they took possession way·yō·reš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָהָ֑ר of the hill country ; hā·hār כִּ֣י but kî לֹ֤א they could not lō לְהוֹרִישׁ֙ drive out lə·hō·w·rîš אֶת־ - ’eṯ-
