אֲחִימַן֙ Ahiman , ’ă·ḥî·man וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- תַּלְמַ֔י and Talmai , tal·may יְלִידֵ֖י the children yə·lî·ḏê הָעֲנָֽק׃ of Anak . hā·‘ă·nāq Joshua 15:15 מִשָּׁ֔ם From there miš·šām וַיַּ֣עַל he marched way·ya·‘al אֶל־ against ’el- יֹשְׁבֵ֖י the inhabitants yō·šə·ḇê דְּבִ֑ר of Debir də·ḇir דְּבִ֥ר - də·ḇir לְפָנִ֖ים ( formerly lə·p̄ā·nîm וְשֵׁם־ known as wə·šêm- קִרְיַת־ vvv qir·yaṯ- סֵֽפֶר׃ Kiriath-sepher ). sê·p̄er Joshua 15:16 כָּלֵ֔ב And Caleb kā·lêḇ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said , way·yō·mer אֲשֶׁר־ “ To the man who ’ă·šer- יַכֶּ֥ה strikes down yak·keh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- קִרְיַת־ vvv qir·yaṯ- סֵ֖פֶר Kiriath-sepher sê·p̄er וּלְכָדָ֑הּ and captures it , ū·lə·ḵā·ḏāh וְנָתַ֥תִּי I will give wə·nā·ṯat·tî ל֛וֹ lōw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בִתִּ֖י my daughter ḇit·tî עַכְסָ֥ה Acsah ‘aḵ·sāh לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ in marriage . ” lə·’iš·šāh Joshua 15:17 עָתְנִיאֵ֥ל So Othniel ‘ā·ṯə·nî·’êl בֶּן־ son ben- כָלֵ֑ב of Caleb’s ḵā·lêḇ אֲחִ֣י brother ’ă·ḥî קְנַ֖ז Kenaz qə·naz וַֽיִּלְכְּדָ֛הּ captured [the city] , way·yil·kə·ḏāh וַיִּתֶּן־ and [Caleb] gave way·yit·ten- אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בִתּ֖וֹ his daughter ḇit·tōw עַכְסָ֥ה Acsah ‘aḵ·sāh ל֛וֹ to him lōw לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ in marriage . lə·’iš·šāh Joshua 15:18 וַיְהִ֣י One day way·hî בְּבוֹאָ֗הּ [Acsah] came [to Othniel] bə·ḇō·w·’āh וַתְּסִיתֵ֙הוּ֙ and urged him wat·tə·sî·ṯê·hū לִשְׁא֤וֹל to ask liš·’ō·wl אָבִ֙יהָ֙ her father ’ā·ḇî·hā מֵֽאֵת־ for mê·’êṯ- שָׂדֶ֔ה a field . śā·ḏeh וַתִּצְנַ֖ח When she got off wat·tiṣ·naḥ מֵעַ֣ל . . . mê·‘al הַחֲמ֑וֹר her donkey , ha·ḥă·mō·wr כָּלֵ֖ב Caleb kā·lêḇ וַיֹּֽאמֶר־ asked way·yō·mer- לָ֥הּ her , lāh מַה־ “ What mah- לָּֽךְ׃ do you desire ? ” lāḵ Joshua 15:19 תְּנָה־ “ Give tə·nāh- לִּ֣י me lî בְרָכָ֗ה a blessing , ” ḇə·rā·ḵāh וַתֹּ֜אמֶר she answered . wat·tō·mer כִּ֣י “ Since kî נְתַתָּ֔נִי you have given me nə·ṯat·tā·nî אֶ֤רֶץ land ’e·reṣ הַנֶּ֙גֶב֙ in the Negev , han·ne·ḡeḇ וְנָתַתָּ֥ה give me wə·nā·ṯat·tāh גֻּלֹּ֣ת springs gul·lōṯ מָ֑יִם of water mā·yim לִ֖י as well . ” lî וַיִּתֶּן־ So [Caleb] gave way·yit·ten- לָ֗הּ her lāh אֵ֚ת - ’êṯ עִלִּיּ֔וֹת [both] the upper ‘il·lî·yō·wṯ וְאֵ֖ת - wə·’êṯ גֻּלֹּ֥ת - gul·lōṯ תַּחְתִּיּֽוֹת׃פ and lower taḥ·tî·yō·wṯ גֻּלֹּ֣ת springs . gul·lōṯ Joshua 15:20 זֹ֗את This zōṯ נַחֲלַ֛ת is the inheritance na·ḥă·laṯ לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃ of the clans lə·miš·pə·ḥō·ṯām מַטֵּ֥ה of the tribe maṭ·ṭêh בְנֵי־ vvv ḇə·nê- יְהוּדָ֖ה of Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh
