Joshua 14:1 וְאֵ֛לֶּה Now these [are the portions] wə·’êl·leh אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- בְנֵֽי־ the Israelites ḇə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl נָחֲל֥וּ inherited nā·ḥă·lū בְּאֶ֣רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ כְּנָ֑עַן of Canaan , kə·nā·‘an נִֽחֲל֜וּ as distributed ni·ḥă·lū אוֹתָ֗ם - ’ō·w·ṯām אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer אֶלְעָזָ֤ר by Eleazar ’el·‘ā·zār הַכֹּהֵן֙ the priest , hak·kō·hên וִיהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ Joshua wî·hō·wō·šu·a‘ בִּן־ son bin- נ֔וּן of Nun , nūn וְרָאשֵׁ֛י and the heads wə·rā·šê אֲב֥וֹת of the families ’ă·ḇō·wṯ הַמַּטּ֖וֹת of the tribes ham·maṭ·ṭō·wṯ לִבְנֵ֥י vvv liḇ·nê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl Joshua 14:2 נַחֲלָתָ֑ם Their inheritance na·ḥă·lā·ṯām בְּגוֹרַ֖ל was assigned by lot bə·ḡō·w·ral לְתִשְׁעַ֥ת for the nine lə·ṯiš·‘aṯ וַחֲצִ֥י and a half wa·ḥă·ṣî הַמַּטֶּֽה׃ . . . ham·maṭ·ṭeh הַמַּטּ֖וֹת tribes , ham·maṭ·ṭō·wṯ כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר as ka·’ă·šer יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh צִוָּ֤ה had commanded ṣiw·wāh בְּיַד־ through bə·yaḏ- מֹשֶׁ֔ה Moses . mō·šeh Joshua 14:3 כִּֽי־ For kî- מֹשֶׁ֜ה Moses mō·šeh נָתַ֨ן had given nā·ṯan נַחֲלַ֨ת the inheritance na·ḥă·laṯ מֵעֵ֖בֶר east of mê·‘ê·ḇer לַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן the Jordan lay·yar·dên שְׁנֵ֤י to the [other] two šə·nê וַחֲצִ֣י and a half wa·ḥă·ṣî הַמַּטֶּ֔ה . . . ham·maṭ·ṭeh הַמַּטּוֹת֙ tribes . ham·maṭ·ṭō·wṯ נָתַ֥ן But he granted nā·ṯan לֹֽא־ no lō- נַחֲלָ֖ה inheritance na·ḥă·lāh בְּתוֹכָֽם׃ among them bə·ṯō·w·ḵām וְלַ֨לְוִיִּ֔ם to the Levites . wə·lal·wî·yim Joshua 14:4 כִּֽי־ - kî- בְנֵֽי־ The descendants ḇə·nê- יוֹסֵ֛ף of Joseph yō·w·sêp̄ הָי֧וּ became hā·yū שְׁנֵ֥י two šə·nê מַטּ֖וֹת tribes , maṭ·ṭō·wṯ מְנַשֶּׁ֣ה Manasseh mə·naš·šeh וְאֶפְרָ֑יִם and Ephraim . wə·’ep̄·rā·yim וְלֹֽא־ And no wə·lō- חֵ֨לֶק portion ḥê·leq בָּאָ֗רֶץ of the land bā·’ā·reṣ כִּ֤י . . . kî נָתְנוּ֩ was given nā·ṯə·nū לַלְוִיִּ֜ם to the Levites , lal·wî·yim אִם־ except for ’im- עָרִים֙ cities ‘ā·rîm לָשֶׁ֔בֶת in which to live , lā·še·ḇeṯ וּמִ֨גְרְשֵׁיהֶ֔ם along with pasturelands ū·miḡ·rə·šê·hem לְמִקְנֵיהֶ֖ם for their flocks lə·miq·nê·hem וּלְקִנְיָנָֽם׃ and herds . ū·lə·qin·yā·nām Joshua 14:5 כֵּ֥ן So kên בְּנֵ֣י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl עָשׂ֖וּ did ‘ā·śū כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר as ka·’ă·šer יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- צִוָּ֤ה had commanded ṣiw·wāh מֹשֶׁ֔ה Moses , mō·šeh וַֽיַּחְלְק֖וּ and they divided way·yaḥ·lə·qū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָֽרֶץ׃פ the land . hā·’ā·reṣ Joshua 14:6 בְנֵֽי־ Then the sons ḇə·nê- יְהוּדָ֤ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וַיִּגְּשׁ֨וּ approached way·yig·gə·šū יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘
