וַיֵּ֧לֶךְ went way·yê·leḵ בֵּית֑וֹ home bê·ṯōw הָרָמָ֖תָה to Ramah , hā·rā·mā·ṯāh עַל־ . . . ‘al- וְהַנַּ֗עַר but the boy wə·han·na·‘ar הָיָ֤ה . . . hā·yāh מְשָׁרֵת֙ began ministering mə·šā·rêṯ אֶת־ to ’eṯ- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- פְּנֵ֖י before pə·nê עֵלִ֥י Eli ‘ê·lî הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ the priest . hak·kō·hên 1 Samuel 2:12 וּבְנֵ֥י Now the sons ū·ḇə·nê עֵלִ֖י of Eli ‘ê·lî בְלִיָּ֑עַל were wicked ḇə·lî·yā·‘al בְּנֵ֣י men ; bə·nê לֹ֥א they had no lō יָדְע֖וּ regard yā·ḏə·‘ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָֽה׃ for YHWH Yah·weh 1 Samuel 2:13 וּמִשְׁפַּ֥ט or for the custom ū·miš·paṭ הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים of the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm אֶת־ with ’eṯ- הָעָ֑ם the people . hā·‘ām כָּל־ When any kāl- אִ֞ישׁ man ’îš זֹבֵ֣חַ offered zō·ḇê·aḥ זֶ֗בַח a sacrifice , ze·ḇaḥ נַ֤עַר the servant na·‘ar הַכֹּהֵן֙ of the priest hak·kō·hên וּבָ֨א would come ū·ḇā שְׁלֹ֥שׁ־ with a three-pronged šə·lōš- הַשִּׁנַּ֖יִם . . . haš·šin·na·yim בְּיָדֽוֹ׃ . . . bə·yā·ḏōw וְהַמַּזְלֵ֛ג meat fork wə·ham·maz·lêḡ הַבָּשָׂ֔ר while the meat hab·bā·śār כְּבַשֵּׁ֣ל was boiling kə·ḇaš·šêl 1 Samuel 2:14 וְהִכָּ֨ה and plunge [it] wə·hik·kāh בַכִּיּ֜וֹר into the pan ḇak·kî·yō·wr א֣וֹ or ’ōw בַדּ֗וּד kettle ḇad·dūḏ א֤וֹ or ’ōw בַקַּלַּ֙חַת֙ cauldron ḇaq·qal·la·ḥaṯ א֣וֹ or ’ōw בַפָּר֔וּר cooking pot . ḇap·pā·rūr הַכֹּהֵ֖ן And the priest hak·kō·hên יִקַּ֥ח would claim yiq·qaḥ בּ֑וֹ for himself bōw כֹּ֚ל whatever kōl אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer הַמַּזְלֵ֔ג the meat fork ham·maz·lêḡ יַעֲלֶ֣ה brought up . ya·‘ă·leh כָּ֚כָה This is how kā·ḵāh יַעֲשׂ֣וּ they treated ya·‘ă·śū לְכָל־ all lə·ḵāl יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל the Israelites yiś·rā·’êl הַבָּאִ֥ים who came hab·bā·’îm שָׁ֖ם . . . šām בְּשִׁלֹֽה׃ to Shiloh . bə·ši·lōh 1 Samuel 2:15 גַּם֮ Even gam בְּטֶרֶם֮ before bə·ṭe·rem הַחֵלֶב֒ the fat ha·ḥê·leḇ יַקְטִר֣וּן was burned , yaq·ṭi·rūn אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נַ֣עַר the servant na·‘ar הַכֹּהֵ֗ן of the priest hak·kō·hên וּבָ֣א׀ would come ū·ḇā וְאָמַר֙ and say wə·’ā·mar לָאִ֣ישׁ to the man lā·’îš הַזֹּבֵ֔חַ who was sacrificing , haz·zō·ḇê·aḥ תְּנָ֣ה “ Give tə·nāh לַכֹּהֵ֑ן the priest lak·kō·hên בָשָׂ֔ר some meat ḇā·śār לִצְל֖וֹת to roast , liṣ·lō·wṯ וְלֹֽא־ because he will not wə·lō- יִקַּ֧ח accept yiq·qaḥ מְבֻשָּׁ֖ל boiled mə·ḇuš·šāl בָּשָׂ֥ר meat bā·śār מִמְּךָ֛ from mim·mə·ḵā כִּ֥י you , kî אִם־ but only ’im- חָֽי׃ raw .” ḥāy 1 Samuel 2:16 הָאִ֗ישׁ And [if] any man hā·’îš וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer
